Espera Oscar de Corti - Chief Iron Eyes Cody

Here are a couple more sites. They seem to agree on the year of his birth.

Wow... so he was around 95, the obituary I found says 80's or 90's. I would be so pissed if i passed at 95 and it was documented so loosely and non-factual, the Chief deserved better.

WOW I can't believe he wasn't an actual Native American, I'm shatterd Advertisers lying to us LOL.

In reading the description of the commercial it is amazing I remember every moment of it, 30 some odd years later.

Seems like he had a realitively scandeless life now that is really rare.

I guess when you are famous for crying about the downfall of society you kind of have to live a pretty tame life.

I remember those ads on TV. He is an icon.

I think almost everyone forgot Suzy Spotless

    She was another anti-litter character.

Chief Iron Eyes Cody sure made me stop littering. It was the scene of pollution in the background and him crying as if to say, you filthy scoundrel from moose poop, clean up your mess.
