    Bonnie and Clyde

Anyone else fascinated by this story? I am. I have done tons of reading on it and seen different crime scene pics...Oddly in a way, I was rooting for them. I don't agree with the killiing they did, but it just sort of seemed romantic in a screwed up sort of way. Anyone else Bonnie and Clyde Fans? I think its a little late for me to say don't think I am weird. I have come to terms with it so you should too

I am also fascinated by these two. Have always wondered why they were not buried next to each other.

Bonnie and Clyde...a slutty and trashy waitress who decides to have some fun with a bi-sexual jail bird. That's about it.

Bonnie and Clyde wished to be buried side by side, but the Parker family would not allow it. Bonnie's mother had wanted to grant her daughter's final wish, which was to be brought home, but the mobs surrounding the Parker house made that impossible.

Over 20 000 people turned out for Bonnie's funeral, making it difficult for the Parkers to reach the grave site. Clyde Barrow is buried in the Western Heights Cemetery, and Bonnie Parker in the Crown Hill Memorial Park, both in Dallas, Texas.

I haven't seen the movie yet but I am dying to! I am watching one on ebay right now. I have wanted to see it for a long time. I wondered why they weren't buried next to each other too. I guess it was up to the families. But it was a fascinating story. And the era it happened in too. Such a huge part of history. I just enjoy the story. If it happened in modern times, I am sure we would all be glued to our tvs waiting for new word on the story.
On another note. If you liked that movie I saw "Bandits" recently. OMG I looooved that movie! Billy Bob Thornton is in it. I have to rent it so my hubby can watch it he would love it too. I saw it on TBS one morning and my 8 year old is already so much like me. He was glued to the movie

I wasn't really that into them until I saw the movie (it's available for instant viewing on Netflix, BTW!)

Since then I have found (online) their death car, clothes, autopsy pics and crime scene photos. The car and Clyde's death shirt are at the Prymm Valley Resort and Casino.

Very interesting story! Here's one of the websites with lots of pictures, etc.: http://texashideout.tripod.com/bc.htm

Primm Valley! They also have a belt made by Clyde's sister, Bonnie's shoes, and some other things I cannot remember right now. It's an interesting exhibit though, I've seen it at least four times (we have to stop in Primm before we hit Vegas to get the slotluck flowing).

Also my goldens names are Bonnie and Clyde.

The movie was fab!! But I don't know how true to life it is. I bet Bonnie Parker was no Faye Dunaway lookswise and Clyde Barrow no Warren Beatty.

When Bonnie is frustrated with their sex life in the movie, she wails, "you're kind of lovin' ain't no kind of lovin' at all!"
What the heck did she mean?
    (a) no sex at all.
    (b) oral sex she didn't like/understand because he couldn't do anything else
    (c) some other non-intercourse kink that's slipping my mind (please specify).

That's the film's only reference to Clyde being bi or gay, depending whose account you go by.

If you'll recall, earlier in the film right after they met, Clyde (Beatty) and Bonnie (Dunaway) were having a spat after they first tried to make out and Clyde bolts out of the car and tells her "I ain't no lover boy". He reminded her of that later in a motel after Bonnie's unsuccessful attempt to arouse Clyde.

I saw a biography on this case - I'm fascinated by it too - and yes, I named two of my pets after them They said in the biography that Clyde's brother knew he was gay, but Clyde was such a "man's man" that Bonnie was his "cover". Said Bonnie used to listen to them make love and then you'd hear Bonnie and Clyde fight like crazy. By the time Bonnie figured it out (apparently she wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer), she was so caught up in the crimes that she couldn't have gotten out if she wanted to. Yeah, I've seen all the books, documentaries, movies.....don't know why I'm so addicted to this case. And like Leppchic, I found myself rooting for them. Odd how they affected people the way they did.

There's that scene in the field 5-10 minutes before they croak, where they imply maybe they finally had sex, it was unclear, perhaps rightly so. Or maybe she'd finally accepted that they could be close, but not physically so.

The story goes that Clyde and C.W. Moss had all the sex in that gang.

Patty, that's the first I've heard of Bonnie not realizing Clyde's sexuality til late. Bonnie was small in stature and it sounds like she had brains to match.

The "blowing newspaper" scene? Yeah, that's what I get from that scene. He asks Bonnie, bashfully, how he did and Bonnie responds with "you did just fine".

The movie, "Bonnie & Clyde" with Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway is being re-released on DVD - as a Special Edition - with deleted scenes and even a special doc on the actual B&C. Should be interesting...

Warner Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Bonnie and Clyde on 25th March 2008. The influential film classic starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway and directed by Arthur Penn will be offered as a Two-Disc Special Edition and, available for a limited time only, an Ultimate Collector’s Edition. Both have been completely remastered from the original elements, and both boast more than three hours of new bonus content, highlighted by “Revolution! The Making of Bonnie and Clyde,” an all new in-depth commemorative documentary. Also included is the History Channel’s® “Love & Death: The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” (a look at the lives of the real Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow) as well as Warren Beatty wardrobe tests and additional scenes, both newly discovered. The Bonnie and Clyde Ultimate Collector’s Edition will also contain collectible memorabilia, with a 36-page hardcover book of rare, behind-the-scenes photos, a 24-page reproduction of the original 1967 press book and special mail-in poster offer.

Bonnie and Clyde Ultimate Collector’s Edition will sell for $39.92 SRP; Bonnie and Clyde Two-Disc Special Edition will be available for $20.97 SRP. Simultaneous HD DVD and Blu-Ray versions of Bonnie and Clyde will also be released (details here).

These two have always facinated me to. And yes, Faye & Warren did them both justice in many ways. I think if you saw the movie it sort of endeared them to us & that's why we want to be on their side more or less. I remember talking with my great grandpa about them after I seen the movie. He laughed when I told him I felt bad about the way they died. He told me to not feel bad because justice was served as it should have been, he said they were cold-blooded killers & deserved just what they got. Very facinating story, I so want to see that car & other items mentioned here! Maybe someday. Thank you SISTA for the pics, I had seen many of their death photo's, but not a couple of the ones you posted, great stuff.

I love this era in American history, John Steinbeck's The Grapes Of Wrath, Bonny And Clyde, Baby Faced Nelson, I agree we need an up dated version of this story, but who would play the parts of Bonnie and Clyde ?

I don't know why it cracks me up but I think it's funny that in the first pic Bonnie's cheek is all puffed out. She was ambushed and killed while eating a sandwich, guess she didn't get the chance to swallow.

I think your quote is totally on about Clyde and CW Moss. And although I agree with you that Bonnie was no dummy, love can make you wish for things you just can't have, and I truly think this was the case with her.

I think either Mary Stuart Masterson (showing my age) or Reese Witherspoon could carry off the Bonnie part, and I think Jake Gyenhall or Ryan Phillipe could pull off Clyde. Too bad Reese and Ryan are got the big "D".

From the "Bonnie's Niece" section of the site:

Bonnie Ray relates a funny story about the later years

Blanche and Billie Jean were little old grey haired ladies at the time and went into a Green Stamp place. While waiting in line at the check-out counter, another old lady needed to leave the line for a bit and left her big old purse sitting there, wide open and asked them to please hold her place in line until she returned. One, either Blanche or Jean, looked to the other and said "boy...if she only knew who we were"! Bonnie Ray said that she laughed at that a hundred times - thinking about these two little old ladies, "notorious women".

Didn't Blanche lose her sight thanks to a gun shot not long before B & C were gunned down? Its been years since I have seen the Beatty Bonnie & Clyde but I seem to remember a scene where the gang was in a bloody shootout and as they were driving away a bullet hit a window and either the glass or the bullet itself ( I think it was the glass ) got Blanche in the eye.

  48. #48

Yea, that was the case in the movie but, come to think of it, I didn't see any mention of it in the few things I came across about her on the site. I might have just missed it. Than again, it wouldn't surprise me if it were Hollywood. I know it mentions that Clyde's mom almost lost her eyesight to an attack at his family's store from an old gang member not long after C&B's deaths.

Blanche was very hot BTW. I never would've thought considering the actress that played her was kinda frumpy.

Blanche Barrow's injuries left her permanently blinded in her left eye. After the 1933 shoot-out that left her husband mortally wounded, she was taken into custody on the charge of "Assault With Intent to Kill." She was sentenced to ten years in prison but was paroled in 1939 for good behavior.

She returned to Dallas, leaving her life of crime in the past, and lived with her invalid father as his caregiver. She married Eddie Frasure in 1940, worked as a taxi cab dispatcher, and completed the terms of her parole one year later. She lived in peace with her husband until he died of cancer in 1969.

Warren Beatty approached her to purchase the rights to her name for use in the film Bonnie and Clyde. While she agreed to the original script, she objected to the final re-write that was used in production, stating that Estelle Parsons portrayed her as "a screaming horse's ass." Despite this, she maintained a firm friendship with Beatty. She died from cancer at the age of 77 on 24 December 1988, and was buried in Dallas's Grove Hill Memorial Park under the name "Blanche B. Frasure".[
