I can confidently say this is Susan's brother:
Name: Allen W Vickery
Birth Date: 6 Apr 1956
Gender: Male
Mother's Maiden Name: Nix
Birth County: Los Angeles
I did not find another birth in California with last name "Vickery" and Mother's maiden name "Nix". This would suggest that Rhonda was not a sister (maternally). Perhaps a half sister?
Allen has passed away:
Allen W Vickery 47 passed away Sunday from an apparent heart attack. Allen came to Fallon 15 years ago from Temple City CA and was a tire salesman ...
I found this old address for Susan from Temple City. The database covers the years 1950-1993:
Susan J Vickery
13 May 1958
5616 Baldwin Ave
Temple City CA 91780-2628
Sorry folks, thought I might be onto something.
I haven't looked at this thread for a few days. Of course I am VERY pleased and grateful as I am on the east coast. Thank You. I am sending you a SMM-MOOOTCH!
P.S., what a tragic family, ALL the kids died untimely deaths. I rather hope the parents were both gone before the son passed.

Hi, new to the forums. Just found this thread. Has anyone found out any new information in the past few years since the last postings? Rhonda?
I had never heard of Susan Vickery before, but after reading all the posts I am dying to see what she looked like.
I looked up the episodes for Hello, Larry and found out she was in an episode called, "The Rockstar, Part 1" Air date: 3/5/80. So, I went to YouTube and found that there is a person who has like 24 episodes of this sitcom posted, but sadly, not the one Susan was in. Grrr...I want to see what she looked like.
I think Ancestry.com has a picture of her in a high school yearbook. If you haven't been a member before, you can get a trial membership for free.
It's possible that an old friend of hers may be willing to share a photo. It's also highly likely that she appeared in magazines and trade journals at some point between 1979 and 1985.

Susan may have also appeared in a 1981 ABC Afterschool Special called "Tough Girl." She is listed in the credits, although her name is spelled "Vicery" (that may be a typo).
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0371994/
I ordered a used copy on VHS for $5.
I received my VHS copy today and scanned through the credits. You are correct -- it's a typo. I have submitted an update to IMDB.
I scanned the special, and she might be the nerdy girl with dark hair and eyeglasses in the "looking for directions on the first day at the new school" scene.
The IMDB says she plays a girl named Denise...When you watch it, let us know and try to get a screen shot.
I have ... the cast is small, and there's only one character not named, a nerdy girl with eyeglasses in the "looking for directions on the first day at the new school" scene. I presume that's her, and I have a couple of screen captures I'll post later today.
Very cool - at long last, a picture! People on this message board do some great detective work!
Maxster, great tip about the yearbooks.
1974:
1976:
Sorry so huge.
Great job!
Can we agree that the girl in the video frame is her?
It definately does look like her.
It is nice to now have a face to go with the name and story.
Thanks Maxster and OMystarz
By 15, she would have achieved her full adult height, and, provided she didn't put on weight, I'm thinking that at 23 she should have looked much the same as she had at 15 or 16.
I believe it is the same girl. What does it for me is her square jaw and rather pointed chin. Also, her two front teeth in Maxster's pic and in the 1976 yearbook pic look identical to me.
Her Find a Grave page has a recent post from a Gavin Stevenson wishing her a Happy Birthday. I looked up McLean Stevenson info. He's not listed as his son. hmmmmm..... Thought there might be a connection.
.
If Susan still looked that young at her presumed age of 27 or 28 (in 1981), perhaps the ailment that ultimately killed her had stunted her growth.... Similar to the late Dana Hill (1964-1996) whose diabetes complications caused an appearance of physical immaturity that fitted her for roles playing much younger girls, and caused her death at age 32.

I'm sorry about the mistake, I did that post in a rush with the older sister's birth year stuck in my mind.
Looking at the photos, Susan does strike me as looking not quite well, even over the course of years (though in the last picture, she blossomed in becoming very pretty.)
Of course that is hindsight, knowing what ultimately happened to her.

I just got this:
Hi Rhonda,
Yes, she was a counselor of mine at "Camp Summerkids" which was in Altadena, CA, if I remember correctly. I remember she was into something along the lines of acting or dancing. She was the sweetest young lady. Everyone loved her, including me. I remember that my mother, many years ago, read in the paper that she died. However, I don't remember what Susan's ailment was exactly. Do you know?
I attended Summerkids during, I believe, the Summers of 1983 and 1984. When did you attend?
Hope to hear good things.
Aloha,
Peter

Hi, You left a message for Susan on Findagrave. Was she a counselor of yours at camp? Please share anything you know about her. Acting, health, etc. Thanks so much!!
Rhonda
IMDB listing updated: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1400323/
Good find!
I ventured out to Rose Hills on my road trip and got a picture of the sisters' memorials. I updated Rhonda's FaG memorial.
I must say, the directions from the Rose Hill receptionist were excellent; I drove up to the laneway top, walked up the hill watching carefully, and spotted the gray memorial of Susan's I'd seen in the FaG pictures. Rhonda's is to the right.
Hi there,
I am almost positive Susan taught PE at Walden school in Pasadena Ca. I attended both walden and Summerkids, where Susan also taught. I attended Susan's funeral when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade. Susan had open heart surgery at one point. I remember being fascinated with her scar (it looked like a cross) as a child. She was very physically active. She was a very small lady. I believe she got sick and died while she was my teacher, hence my and other classmates attendance at her funeral. I don't remember anything about a liver ailment, but she definitely had some significant health issues that required open heart surgery at a very young age. She was very health conscious and was an energetic and positive adult to be around for us kids. I don't remember her being an actress at all, but I do remember her being a dancer/gymnast. She popped into my mind the other night and I punched in her name and was lead here. I realize this thread is pretty old at this point, but thought I'd share this anyway.
Thank you for posting, Heak and great research everyone. Still curious as to Rhonda's death at such an early age. Maybe someone will get that question solved too
Very interesting story. I hope someone can find out about the sister as well.
The death certificates for both sisters are available, at $21 apiece.
Edit: apparently she was an alumni of Arcadia High School, class of 1976.

The web says Susan died from a liver ailment........It sure is weird you can't find anything on her or her sister.....

Find-a-Grave seems arbitrary and capricious in rating people as famous.
A woman I've known a few years finally got a Facebook account, and I told her to send me a friend request. She did, and I'd only known her as Susan [her married name here] but her FB account is Susan Vickery [married name.]
I realize it's just a coincidence, but it's an odd one. She is exactly the age this Susan Vickery would be if she were alive.
Thanks for whoever posted the pictures of her. I had the weirdest feeling before seeing them! And although "my" Susan Vickery obviously dies her hair (blonde) I can see by the features that it is, of course, two different people.
Weird though.

Wow, Susan Vickery is my aunt. I can answer any questions needed. Yes, our family story is very sad. My grandparents are still alive. Every single one of their kids have passed. NONE by suicide. We are private, there are a lot of things that happened after Susan's death. A lot of people trying to profit off of it, sickeningly. My aunt Rhonda passed when she was little. She was born a cripple, and had numerous health issues. My aunt Susan died of a disease where scar tissue builds in your liver, not allowing blood to filter. It was very sad and heart breaking. My dad died when I was 13, and I am the only grandchild. My mom actually passed recently too. I am turning 25 at the end of this month for anyone who's curious. Ask away any questions you have, but please, be respectful. The pictures above are Susan. She was beautiful. I have way better head shots if anyone's curious. Susan was the light of my grandparents light. Always laughing, and interesting. She was definitely up and coming.
-- to clear up some misinformation. My grandma has never been a single mother. She's been married to my grandpa for 60+ years.

--Also! Her growth was certainly not stunted! She was just very small. All of the females on my fathers side are very very petite. My grandma isn't even 5 foot, same with my great grandma. She was indeed as old as that says.

You need to combine these threads into the first one below. Also, read on.
It is not against the rules to be disrespectful to people in the news. It is against the rules to criticize other members opinions. Rule 4.
I am not looking to criticize other members. Simply stating, if people have questions about my aunt, I'll answer them if they're respectful. Do they have to be respectful in order to post on your forum, no. That's their right, simply stated in your rules. However, I have a right not to respond either. This is a touchy subject in my family. I understand you have your forum that you're heavily involved in, this is my real life. We're talking about my relatives, and the most sensitive subject is two of my last relatives -- my grandparents. I didn't once call out any member in particular, but please understand that our story is real, our feelings are real, we have all been through a lot of death, and we are currently mourning one of the last people we thought we would.

Desiree, Thank you so much for posting and giving us all the information. I'm so sorry you've had to experience so much loss in your young life. We would like to see some head shots of Susan if you care to post them
Hi Desiree (and my new Fad friends) -
I??m Peter. I was a comedian and actor for years and I just discovered this site a couple days ago when for some reason I typed in your aunt??s name into google. (Actually I know the reason ?? to this day, I still think about her!). I went to college with her (P.C.C. and Cal State L.A.) - we were in acting classes together, became good friends and even a little more than that for period of time. I was so surprised to see people were on here discussing her for years and I only wish I would have found this site much sooner. I can??t believe you??re getting close to the same age now she was back then and of course that??s how I??ll always remember her frozen in time. I just wanted to write and tell u that she was a wonderful person. Nice, cute, friendly, talented and funny! How can u beat that!
Plus a lot of people may not have thought about this, but professionally she had a great advantage for an actress - being smaller of stature and looking so young meant that she could play very young roles - even kids - and that meant the producers didn??t have to worry about the legalities they normally would have to deal with like how many hrs. she could be on a set or having to supply school classes off the set, etc. I attached this composite of her that I saved all these years that I thought you and the others here all may like to see. This is a 2 sided page that u would bring to your audition with your resume?? if it was for a commercial. When we heard of her passing way back then we were all in such a state of shock - I never went to the gravesite because back then I really didn??t think I could handle it. I guess it was that being in denial type of thing. But now all these years later I would really like to go and would feel at peace there I think (one of my favorite movies is Harold and Maude)? My parents are buried in a mausoleum side by side only about 15 minutes from me and I always get a sense of peace when I??m there. Anyway, I was pleased to see the gravestone pics that were posted and since I don??t even live that far from Whittier I definitely would like to go visit her now. I have a little more I could say but I guess this is getting a little long. (My 1st post on any forum anywhere!). Glad I found you and all the others on here (was it Maxter who got this started years ago? Yo Max!) and I appreciate the others for even caring about this ??unknown? actress they were so curious about! Peace, Peter
P.S. The other reason I??m glad to have found u guys is to maybe avoid getting myself listed on here as deceased because I myself have been dead...online that is ;o). On IMDB I was dead for a few years before I finally could get it corrected on there! (I was in a comedy team for years and my partner and I were in the film Killer Klowns from Outer space which we shot just a couple years after Susan passed away. (I know she would have been proud of me ?? it was one our first major jobs). And then if that wasn??t enough, recently someone sent me this other link where it says I??m dead again!
http://people.theiapolis.com/actor-BNDV/peter-licassi/
That someone also put a made up date of birth and death - the birthday they put was the wrong year and also the day: April 1st ?? April fool??s day! Very funny someone!) Anyway, last I checked I wasn??t dead?so readers of online info beware!
