I'm still amazed with the latest generation of digital colorization. I have some digital colorized Three Stooges dvd's and, like the Lucy clip, the quality is amazing. If one didn't know better, one would believe these black and white films were originally shot in color. The result looks exactly like color movies shot during the same era.

They really should have insisted on oversight of the original statue in the first place-- could have saved a lot of money, headaches, and bronze.

Though in reality, that's probably what someone would REALLY look like after knocking down huge swigs of Vita-Meata-Vega-Min (sp?).
Or that fine product from the same company, Vita-Meata-Vega-METH !

That much having been said, I hope neither statue ends up like the late Al Waxman's life-sized "King of Kensington" statue in Toronto, spray-painted and all.

What a vast improvement over the first attempt ! Not sure what material was used, I'd prefer a smoother, more-polished look. Great facial resemblance, although perhaps of the material used the eyebrows, lipstick and eyelashes are overstated. Great attention the facial details and the unique contours of her face. Thanks for posting this photo.

I love Cate Blanchett and think this is great casting. However, with the children tied to the film I'm not sure how it will actually turn out. I'm curious. What do you guys think? http://variety.com/2015/film/news/ca...in-1201584182/

I don't know how much more they can reveal on the relationship between Lucy & Desi that we haven't already learned from 1991 CBS made-for-TV movie, ''Lucy and Desi: Before the Laughter,'' which starred Frances Fisher, as well as the 2003 Movie "Lucy" with Rachel York, but I guess we'll see...

I don't really know that this deserves it's own thread (mods move it if so) but Lucy's great granddaughter just passed away with cancer. The lower pic makes her look very much like Lucy.

She was a beauty. Only 31 years old and battled cancer for 6 years. So very young. RIP.
