Just thought I'd tell everyone that the next episode of Autopsy - The Last Hours Of to be shown here in th UK will be about River Phoenix.

I'm not 100% it works in the US but I found a site that will let you watch it live if you don't have access to Channel 5. I have watched US things on it so I assume it will.

I've always wondered what part of Applegate's interpretive dance was based off River's death?

I think it's safe to assume it's the part where she falls to the floor in convulsions and as if gasping for air. The vid of her performance is on youtube and btw, I simply can't get my head around the fact that people think she's mocking him or even worse, that she was mocking him while he was dying.

I was 20 when I heard on the tv that River had died, and HOW. My stomach hit the floor. I was married and had a 2 yr old running around me as I stared at the tv. Riv was my first 'love'. My fave film of his has got to be 'Running on Empty'. "Stand by Me' is a close second. If only someone could have saved him from himself.

Yesterday would have been River's 45th birthday. I watched a couple of his movies in his memory. Such a shame. It still makes me sad to think about what could have been...

I saw his story on 'Autopsy, the last hours of...' So sad, and the 911 call from his brother was gut wrenching. The 911 operator kept telling him to calm down. I think he was remarkably calm considering he'd been in a loud club, probably had a few drinks, and then his brother was dying in front of him. Poor guy. I have two brothers and I can't even imagine.

Funny how River didn't look like any of his siblings at all. I'm not implying anything, maybe he looked more like one of his parents and the others look more like the other, it's only that when I try to imagine how he would look now, looking at his family doesn't really help.

This was heartbreaking news, River Phoenix was an amazing actor with awesome talent. Why is it these special people usually end up in the drug trap and die before the world gets to see what they are really capable of?
