Great video Scott. I can't believe Eddie Nash only got 4 years in prison for what he did.

    Great Footage Scott

That was great Footage Scott It's nice to see what the house looks like Now.

I still wonder where Susan is and How she is doing as well as Sharon Holmes. I've heard Susan changed her name and moved far away but I have no idea if it was true. With Eddie Nash still alive I probably would have gone underground.

I can't imagine showing up at that home and finding someone alive in all that carnage.

That video was so great Scott. Thank you sooooo much. It was great to see the actual layout of the house. How did you feel while making it? Did you get any strange vibes in there?

Wow that gave me chills !!! My birthday is tomorrow and that was like an early birthday gift!!! I loved how clever the camera work was like the shot of scott standing on the stairs and it faded to the investigator standing in the same spot!!! Wow, wow, wow!!!!! I would love to buy that house, I would so use luminal all over that place..I bet there is still blood splatter ...that was awesome !!! I swear me and Scott shre the same brain! The last shot of him walking out with the door slightly ajar..man that was eerie and he says no one called the police.....and the oscar goes too.......that was beyond awesome!!!!! Anyone else utterly fasinated by the fact something horrific and just beyond evil and awful can happen in a place and after all is said and done its peaceful and quiet?? I want to explore every bloody place!!!!!

Universal Precautions were not practiced in 1981. The worst thing anyone thought of was Hep and really that was not an issue back then.

No one really knew about HIV yet (it was on the horizon though) and people did not start wearing gloves until much much later.

When I was a child in the 1970's, my Aunt used to clean a clinic at night and she got stuck many times becaue back then it was normal practice to throw the needles in with the regular garbage (paper, etc).

And the most deadly viruses are very fragile. They can not survive outside of the human body for more than 24 hours.

I just got an email back with the name of the owner, who does not live in the place, so they must have been renting it. They did not include the salle date and last sale price. Still waiting for that.

I don't think I could live in a house where I knew one person let alone 4 people were brutally murdered. Just me I guess...I would love to take a tour of the Property though.
I'm sure that there is still blood spatter underneath the paint. Looks like the house really hasn't changed much...same rooms only thing that seemed different is the carpet was taken up and it was painted. New applicances in the kitchen that seems to be it.

They aren't selling it now -- the old tenants have just moved out and they're looking for someone new to sign a lease. So if you're looking for a place to live...

Also, I am sure you could still find blood stains from the murder if you used luminol. I remember seeing a show on the disappearance of Hoffa and they pulled up carpeting and luminolled the wood floor of a house that they alleged he was killed in -- now decades after he disappeared -- and blood stains were still there.

I'm pretty sure it's not cheap!

I wouldn't want to live there. It as if there is a really bad karma hanging over that house from the dead.

I knew of a house that had 4 people die in. One of the people in it was someone I knew and after the murders I refused to even drive by it. I was afraid some of the bad karma of the house would come after me next!

Thanks Flim. Hopefully Scott will let us know what the price was. That must have been what the sign was hanging on the balcony that was blurred out. I thought it was a for sale sign, but I guess it is a for rent sign with the number and that is why you guys blurred it out.

Another question, is is all one building, or are they condo like? How many are there if they are condo like?

LOL, I would not want to live there either, but it sure is a tempting thought for me!

Actually, it looks as if it was always kind of a not so nice neighborhood and the place is pretty generic.

I'm not sure (and I was there!). I know that the unit had the entire first floor of the building, because the lower front balcony is off of that first room, and in the back room you can see out the window into the back yard. Upstairs, though, seemed to only take up the front half of the second floor, so I would guess that there is a second unit (maybe a smaller 1 bedroom or studio apartment) upstairs in back with a different access point -- we didn't walk around the outside much. There was garage parking 2-3 cars in the building.

The neighborhood is pretty nice - it's in the hills. Not the kind of place you would expect to find a drug den, IMO.

I would guess that half the neighbors don't even know the address's history. The story is also a bit more obscure -- probably not as much of a nuisance from people like us as Cielo Dr., Marilyn Monroe's street, etc., which probably get more traffic from strangers trying to get a look. Still, we didn't waste any time getting in and out of there, and you'll notice Scott is whispering at the beginning of the video when we're outside.

Oh, and thanks for the props, knothere.

Great film Scott. Facinating seeing how the house looks today and at the time of the murders. I don't understand how no one called the cops either what with the violence going on and ransacking the place.

Fascinating video, Scott. Such a huge difference from the house in 1981 and the house now. Pretty interesting to also see the crime scene video with the two investigators walking in there. That took some guts!

Nice neighborhood, but ticky-tacky houses right in that area...sorely in need of renovation or outright tear-downs...looks very small and cramped in the murder house.

Nice vid Scott! For a future DVD or is that a stand-alone piece?

Seems kind of low actually, so square footage must be playing a role. $670K in Laurel canyon is a steal for an actual home, for a condo it's still reasonable. As for rent, that's exactly what I pay here in SF (and my apartment is not that big), and I've been under rent control for years. Comparable units in my bldg. (2 bed/2 bath) are going for $4000-7500/month and up. So yeah, that's pretty darn cheap--especially given the area/neighborhood. The house itself must be in pretty bad shape overall.

And why were thay all murdered...I know it was a drug home and they were looking for I guess drungs and money....but was it leave no witnesess??

They were killed because they ripped off a drug dealer named Eddie Nash. John Holmes helped the people killed when they ripped of Eddie. My guess is Eddie got John to rat his friends out and made him go help the killers get into the house. His bloody palm print was found on the bed next to one of the victims.

Correct. Eddie Nash suspected John Holmes' involvement because Holmes was being used as a go-between with Nash's gang and the Wonderland gang, and because a back entrance/window was left open at Nash's place which made the robbery possible.

When Nash confronted John Holmes, Holmes was supposedly wearing a ring that was part of the stuff that was stolen (absolutely idiotic if true -- don't do cocaine, kiddies...) and Nash beat the hell out of Holmes until he gave up the other people who stole his stuff. Supposedly the drugs, money and jewelry that they had made off with were worth around $1.2M, so you can imagine how pissed Nash was.

So Nash beats Holmes up, Holmes squeals on the others, and Nash grabs some body guards and drags Holmes (supposedly - he may have gone willingly) and they all go to the Wonderland house and beat 4 out of 5 of the gang to death, with the 5th person miraculously surviving.

Later, I think Holmes went state's witness for the prosecution, but Nash still had to be prosecuted twice - hung jury the first time and I think he only got a few years the second. I'm thinking that John Holmes, an ex-porn star and major drug addict, wasn't the most reliable witness, and everybody involved gave different accounts of what happened.

I think the case is still officially "unsolved."

Well, sort of.....although they know Nash orchestrated it.

In 2000, Eddie among many other things pled guilty to ordering his thugs to retreive the stolen things from Wonderland. Part of that plea included admitting that in doing that, the retrieval might have escalated to extreme violence and homicde.

He received four and a half years in prison for that plea along with others to include jury tampering, money laundering and racketeering.

Not much time, considering all he did. He is still living in Los Angles, albeit a old and sick man.

John Holmes of course went on trial for the Wonderland murders and was aquitted.

Actually the current values of most the condos on Wonderland are now $800K-$1M. $670K was back in 2003. Given the current worth the rent is quite cheap. Welcome to Hollywood Hills I guess

I may be wrong, but I don't think Holmes ever testified. I know David Lind did...whose reputation wasn't that great either. As a matter of fact I believe there were detectives sitting at Holmes deathbed hoping for a deathbed confession.

Yes, Holmes refused to testify and was charged with contempt of court more than once, I believe.

David Lind was played in the movie by Dylan McDermott and yea, he had a bad reputation, it was also thought that both he and his gf Barbara were police informants. Barbara, of course perished at Wonderland.

Lind died in 1995 of a heroin overdose...or did he? There is speculation that due ot both his position as a informant and as a member of the Aryan Brotherhood he is currently in the Witness Protection Program.

Wiki has some great info on the Wonderland Gang (not just the murders) here:

Yep, he was jailed for contempt a few times. In fact, that's one of the rumors as to where he contracted AIDS...prison. Just a rumor though.

I have not heard what happened to Lind. Wouldn't surprise me if he had died of an overdose though.
