Thread: Ted Nugent

Yeah, hunting is major around here and they start em out young. It isn't for me, but I don't really say anything and I agree that teaching young children the way to safely hunt is good. I live in an extremely small, rural community and our local weekly newspaper is just full of hunters of all ages posing with their deer or turkeys that they killed during hunting season. I hate those pictures and they make me cringe. I don't buy the paper during hunting season any more. My two oldest grandsons (5 and 3) haven't ever been hunting, but they absolutely love to go fishing with their daddy. That doesn't bother me. I tease the guys at work and tell them they shouldn't kill deer because they are so pretty and they should kill ugly animals like chickens. They just laugh at me.

Just have to vent a minute - I am soooooo sorry Ted Nugent is all offended by them cancelling his concert for the armed services just because the made disparaging remarks about the Commander-in-Chief. Gee, that's a shame. Now, I would venture to guess that had it been a left wing nut who (albeit vaguely) threatened, say, John McCain, Ted would the the first one calling for the concert cancellation.

I don't necessarily dislike Ted; we wouldn't hang in the same circles, but I like some of his music. But it's the same ol' double standard the drives me nuts.

I agree 100%! I got into a heated discussion this past week with a co-worker who likes Ted Nugent. He was complaining about Ted's show being cancelled because he had planned to go. I told him it was Ted's own fault that it got cancelled and apparently that opinion didn't sit very well. He starts going on about free speech and all this other stuff. I told him free speech shouldn't override common sense. He knew he was going to be performing on a military base. I guess his overblown ego had him convinced that he could say whatever he wanted and nobody would call him on it and I'm so glad he was finally taken down a few pegs.

Teds done a lot for our military. Sending care packs to iraq and afganistan to thoes on the front lines, doing free concerts at bases around the world, his wife Charlene spearheaded a movement to revamp walter reed miitary hospital long before it made news the place was in bad shape. As the president seems to roll, reward your friends, squash your enemies. Teds mouth got his concert canceled and secret service goons after him. Did obama have a hand in this ? Who knows

I wonder if Ted will live up to his promise of being either dead or in jail once Obama gets re-elected? You know it's going to happen - Romney doesn't have a chance.

It's pretty amazing how "pro military" most of these jack asses are. I'm not knocking supporting the troops AT ALL, but I'm baffled at the disconnect. How can you do that sort of good and then turn around and make death threats to the president? And yes, that's what he did. He and Toby Keith can go jump in a lake.

I like the idea of Ted Nugent and Toby Keith jumping into a lake. We can tie Natalie Maines to their feet to weigh them down and keep them from resurfacing.

I don't honestly think Ted has any plans to off the president, but he still shouldn't be running his mouth and making such remarks. I'm sure the secret service knows he is full of shit, too, but they still have to do their jobs. Fort Knox doesn't just let any Tom, Dick, and Harry on base. My dad works at Fort Knox and they are super picky about everything. He mows there in the summer months and wears a uniform and a name badge. We call him our own personal Forrest Gump.

Poor wittle Ted seems to really have a hard time controlling his temper when someone says something he doesn't like. Ain't that just the drizzling shits?! He is edging toward Charlie Sheen crazy. I wonder if Ted has tiger blood, too?

Considering he says he's one of the nicest guys around, he sure has an easy time coming across like a gigantic asshole.

"High Enough" has been stuck in my head like the Rice-a-Roni jingle, ever since reading this thread last week. Damn you, Damn Yankees! I read up on how that song came to be. They wrote it while they were doing their laundry. As you do.

Man! It's not on their main web page yet...or at least I haven't been able to find it. If someone asked me to guess what celebrity might have a spouse who would tote a gun to an airport, Nugent would make a Top Ten Most Likely list.

Haaa! He's definitely nuttier than a Rosie O'Donnell/Roseanne Barr macadamia-farm merger. Must take a special lil' lady to ride shotgun to "The Nuge".

I so agree. He is playing in concert tonight at a local casino. Makes me sick to my stomach he is only a few miles from me. The ads show him in a Native American headdress playing guitar. He is such a douche bag. Have even thought about picketing the casino for allowing him to play there.

I like Ted. He's a barbarian for sure. Hey if the shit ever hits the fan and society falls, this man will survive. He knows things I think we should all learn about living off the land. I know when he comes around here he buys a lot of his bowhunting equipment at Pensacola Hardware and hunts wild hog around here. I, personally, can't hunt. I couldn't shoot an animal. I think a lot of his nutty behavior is to piss off the people that hate him. He's a crazy bastard but I like him.

I don't agree with a lot of what the man has to say, but I can't begrudge him for how he is. (depending on the day, ya'll know I go loco sometimes) I have always been a fan of the loud, crude, and obscene, so when it comes to actual dislike, he's not too high on my list. He's a prick for sure, but I am not too concerned about him. The top of the totem pole is what is to be feared. Ted is a mouth, but so are many people I admire, they are just bellowing through a horn my brain relates to.

Interviewed Ted a couple of times while reporting in Detroit. One time around Thanksgiving when he had donated some venison to a homeless shelter. Nice gesture. Litening to him talk about it....not so nice. After about four minutes, I was ready to rip my ears out to make it stop. Not a fan.

Nugent is the King of Douchebags. Saw him when he opened for KISS about 10 years ago. He talked about members of KISS using anti-Semitic slurs, I wonder if they kicked him off the tour after that.

I loathe him and he doesn't even have to open his mouth. He pisses me off just to look at him because he is such an arrogant asshole. I never gave him a passing thought until he had his reality show or whatever it was. I have disliked him ever since then.

Although I detest and despise him, I also find him oddly compelling at times (to my great mortification). Kinda like I feel about Hannibal Lecter, only HL is fictional and far classier and more intelligent than Teddy boy. I am surprised, however, that no one has brought up the fabulous moment in the High Enough video when Ted's zebra-print chiffon duster apparently renders him bullet-proof, because I personally cannot engage in a discussion about the man without mentioning that career highlight.

To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

Belongs with the other chickenhawk draft dodgers like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. The fact that these pussies tried to smear John Kerry, someone who actually saw combat in Vietnam, makes my blood boil to this day.
