    Mysterious Disappearance of Amy Bradley

Amy Bradly went missing from a Royal Caribbean cruise in 1998. Here's the Wiki entry, that gives a very good summary:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Bradley

There have been numerous "sightings" of her over the years. Here's a link to one: CAUTION: These are definately R rated pics!

    http://www.hyscience.com/archives/20...my_bradley.php

So, what are the death hag theories? Was she sold into prositution? Did she party up with those people she was last seen with and somehow fall overboard? Did she OD and they dumped her body? Did she voluntarily vanish herself?

    Discuss.

Gee. Those photos do look like her. God help the missing.

btw it says Dr. Phil showed the pic against the family's wishes. Beginning to think he's a real schmuck!

Wow those pics are an amazing likeness - I'd be convinced it was her. But how do we know those pics aren't from before she went missing from the cruise ship?

That's horrible. The guy she asked for help didn't tell anyone untill months later??

I think the sailor story was just that, a story.

I'm go back and forth about those pictures. BGM has a good point: how do we know those aren't from before the cruise? They aren't super explicit, the woman in them looks wasted, what's to say it wasn't a fun night in the dorm with the camera?

There is a striking resemblence, though. The nose, the chin, the forehead.

All the pics throughout her life are of her with short hair. She doesn't look young in those sexy photos.

Here's a lot of different pictures of Amy. Nope, no long hair in any.

The Dad felt it was her. I trust a parent's instinct on this, don't you?

Also, they would have been able to say if it was a "before" pic, which seems unlikely.

    Look at the jawline.

I really don't know what to make of those pictures. One minute, I think it's Amy, the next they don't even look alike. Maybe it's the 1984 that the "new" pics reek of that gets me distracted.

On a sidenote, I think a parent whose child has gone missing wants to see their daughter in every passer-by. I'm not saying that a parent's instinct isn't of help, but sometimes it's a stretch for the rest of us to see what the parents do.

Well its been 10 years and if she has been forced into prono or prostitution she may have gotten hard.
BUT she had tattoos and maybe that long hair is to cover up identifying marks?

Ilmatar, that's a good point, that parents are looking for their child in every face.

Her tattoos were on her left shoulder, around her naval, which was pierced, her right ankle (doesn't say inside or outside of ankle) and on her lower back, according to the Charley Project link above. The way the person in the photos was posed, you might imagine you see a bit of the left shoulder tattoo. Then again, it could just be her hair.

Also, if the parents thought it was her, why weren't they on the first plane there? I'm not trying to fault the parents, but even if law enforcement was going to move on it, wouldn't you be on the first plane there?

I would think if she was alive and wanted to contact her family, she would of had 1 chance in the past 10 years to do so. With all the women who volunteer to enter porno, I don't know if I buy the "sold into sex" theory.

I remember reading about this on some other web sites. I don't know what I believe. I do wish her well, of she is still alive.

Sexual Slavery and the Mysterious Disappearance of Amy Bradley

Ordinarily, this sort of story would go in a different section, but since this disappearance happened 10 years ago, it's unlikely the young woman is still alive. Here's what we know:
Amy Bradley, a vivacious 23-year-old from Virginia who'd just graduated from college, was on a Caribbean cruise with her parents and brother when she vanished. Her brother told investigators he last saw Amy sitting on a balcony having a cigarette on one of the ship's upper decks. Now, in most of these sorts of mysteries, we assume the victim fell aboard. But not in Amy's case: The ship was close to shore (it was just pulling into port on the island of Curacao) and she was a strong swimmer. As well several passengers said they saw Amy later in an elevator with a man known only as "Yellow," a member of the ship's band. One of the theories making the rounds was that she was kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery. That theory was given legs the following year, when an American sailor visiting a Curacao whorehouse said he was approached by a white woman who identiified herself as Amy, and asked for help. At that point, he claimed, two men escorted her upstairs. This dickhead didn't bother to report the incident for months. She hasn't been seen since, and a $250,000 reward for her return remains in place today.

Creepy story. If it is her Im sure she is constantly drugged or addicted to heavy drugs.

It looks like her. You have to remember that it's been 10 years. If she was forced into prostitution she may not be able to get free. Also, if she was forced into prostitution she may have turned to drugs to deal with her situation. I wonder if her parents were told by authorities not to go after her. In some countries the authorities are easily bought so our authorities may be trying to get her back or cannot get her back through local authorities. It's possible she went overboard and her body was never found. Bodies don't float until the gas builds up and makes them bouyant so maybe they just never saw her? It's hard to say.

When looking at the actual porn site that these are posted on, I find it interesting that most of the other girls look happy to be porn girls

Yet the supposed pic of Amy looks so scary - she looks drugged out of her mind and terribly unhappy - like she doesn't want to be doing the pose

I don't know why, but those pics of her give me the willies

I think that she was probably sold into prostitution, but that once she talked to that man, they killed her and burned down evidence of the brothel.

Its heartbreaking on so many levels. Do you think we will ever find out what really happened to her?

It certainly looks like the same person. Incredible to think this happens all the time. I woner if she is dead. Once they serve their purpose I doubt there is much use for them.

My thoughts on that would be that it's the same thing as a rape. It's not so much the sex as it is forcing someone to do something against their will. The whole power issue. And forced sex is probably the most degrading thing their is.

Agreed. When you're degraded like that, especially for years on end, you'd have no sense of self-worth. If she doesn't want to contact her family, it's likely just because she may be afraid of their perceptions of her.

That's true. Remember the girl that slept in a coffin (or something) under her "master's" bed after he kidnapped her when she was hitchhiking? He had brainwashed her so badly that he even took her to see her family after a few years and she went back with him. Man, why can't I remember her name? Somebody help me here!

    Dangers of Cruising

As people can tell by my avatar I am active in the Coast Guard Auxilliary. Regular duty Coast Guard officer was telling my and the other auxilliary member ( an NYPD Officer) that crime is rampant on even the bes cruise lines. Rapes and sexual assults are a regular occurance and that the cruise lines just buy off the victims and there familys.
The cop conurred and shared a couple of stories that shocked me about the criminal history of a couple of cruise line employees. I asked how they ever made it past the back ground check and he said the guy had very poorly faked ID papers and the cruise line HR never questioned them.
I would not be a bit surprised if a ship employee was hijacking passengers for the sex trade.
    What a shame.
    Regards,
    Mary

It may be impossible to ever know what happened to her. I can't see her drowning because she is a lifeguard, but you never know what can happen. The situation is terrible and very sad.

Please dont be mad at me for saying this, but I hope that she is dead. I hope that if she was forced into prostitution and constantly drugged, that she is no longer suffering.

If she is still alive, then I hope we find her soon. What will be left of the girl's mind after all this abuse, I dont know.
