I loved M&S too. It waded through rumors and conjecture about many interesting subjects. I wish they would bring it back. AJ used to appear on Howard Stern's old radio show but was banned when he started a fist fight with a staff member. Hopefully he is not as much of a hothead now.

yeah, A.J. punched Stuttering John for making prank phone calls to the show about A.J. going bald. John had it coming though. and I LOVED Mysteries & Scandals. that was good stuff.

I never watched his program after I saw him on a talk show and he referred to Elizabeth Taylor as an old, washed up has been druggie and drunk. This woman is due more respect than that.

Although I watched it, I really learned little from the episodes.
I put A.J. BENZA on a par with CURTIS SLIWA, loud, phony & self important. They're both a pair of jokes.

I saw the video of that on Howard's old E! show. A.J. sucker punched John like a little p*ssy and then ducked behind other people. Took 4 people to keep Stuttering John from killing him. I lost any respect I might have had for A.J. right there.

He did have a good hosting "voice" always did like the show.
The survival of everyone on board depends on just one thing: finding someone on board who can not only fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner.

He star faded after his talks show on E failed...plus he got in to a physical fight with Stuttering John on the Howard Stern Show around the time his talk show failed and was throwm off the HS show as frequent guest...he kind of "lost it" after that...I also think that he talked too much about being Italian and from NY city all the time...that shit gets old quickly

Agree. He was a total douche about Stuttering John. You know what you are in for when you go on Stern.

His schtick was wearing thin but I liked the idea of the E show, not so much the execution.

Geez, they have so many schlocky True Stories now, I used to clear the decks for Sunday nights and watch ETHS and VH1's Behind the Music, they used to be good but they have run of of subjects and half time time the info is sketchy, they should do old school mysteries and scandals again and do a better job.

They should hire Scott to oversee

Yes, that show and Behind the Music were a couple of the
best things on TV. City Confidential too. Why do they
take that stuff off?? Or is it just that only hags like it?

Something on tv just reminded me of this show. Started googling a bit to see if the person I was thinking of had ever been profiled. Nope. But I did find a list of every pereon they ever profiled. Many clips of these folks' episodes can be found on youtube.

If you've seen the show, this should be an interesting walk down memory lane for you. If you never heard of the show, enjoy!:

Stew, don't hate on him, he has music in his soul!!

From IMDB: "Being a huge Hall and Oates fan, In 1983 he started a rock band with three childhood friends, Whitey, Chico and Fred; they called the band: "Fred can wait." Benza, a harmonica wizard, dazzled many college crowds with his lightning lipwork and crashing crescendos."

How can you not like a person with lightning lipwork?

rotfl!!! "dazzled many college crowds". That's the best bit. I remember when Stuttering John went after him on Howard Stern. AJ thought he could slap John and he'd just cower but stuttering John went after his ass.

Ok you can trash "Rock Me Tonight" especially the writhing in satin sheets, but if you bring up "The Stroke" or "My Kinda Lover" you're going to be setting of a powder keg of middle aged rock angst you are not prepared for.

Especially living in Kentucky, which if memory serves, has its fair share of classic oldies radio stations.

hahaha It's not the song really. If you take away the video it's pretty catchy. Some of his songs were outright awesome. But that video pretty much killed his career. Another casualty of Flashdance. The slow mo shirt rip is the best. He's a tiger!!! He's AJ Benza!!
