I despise DMB!!!! I change the radio whenever I hear a song!!! Linkin Park, Nickleback, Staind, and pretty much almost all the "rock" music out today .. whiny bands!!
I would have to go with Most of the crap that Korn put out (excfept freak on a leash)
and one of the bands I just can't stand to listen to is TOOL
Without a doubt ... Pink Floyd
Just give me Skynyrd (1973-1977), Marshall Tucker Band, CDB and I'm fine....I can't stand most of this new shit that's out there today.
"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's Heaven on Earth" - Mark Twain
LOL did not read through entire posts.. but WHOEVER did that My Sherona crap.. Hate them!!

Creed! Hate Them!!!!!

LOL!!!
Amen to all, but the Celine Dion comment was pure genius. Bravo/brava!Originally Posted by Ilmatar

Blind Melon. A reunion?! What does it take to get rid of this crap, obviously death doesn't cut it?
Norwegian black metal. Not that I'm particularly fond of any other kinds of black metal either, but come on! Burzum, wtf?!
Guns N' Roses. Ewwwww.
I don't get the Creed thing either. I liked it better the first time around when it was called "Pearl Jam." That idiot lead doesn't even has his own style -- he just stole Eddie Vedder's. Prat.
Hank Williams Sr. makes me want to end my life by whatever handiest method available.
People act as if I've just shat on their lawn in front of the neighborhod, if I admit I cannot stand Elvis Presley, and I'm really, really certain I never will.
Country music makes me want to jump off the nearest tall building.
Metallica was crap *before* they did a sell-out album that pissed even their hard-core fans off. Pretty much anything Dave Mustain had a hand in is crap, crap, crap.
Even when I was on the air, I didn't listen to radio. I still don't. Too much BS to waft through, hoping to hear something good before you get to any destination. Music is as important to me as gasoline when it comes to cars.
PvN, every deejay I know who wants to actually keep up with music, listens to either the community stations or the local college stations -- the only ones with playlist freedom.
They were the first band that popped into my head! That guy's voice is like driving nails into your eardrums.
I Hate:
Jack Johnson - My A #1 most despised musician. Could his music be any more boooooring?! He makes me want to kick something.
Winger - Those horrid leather vests Kip Winger used to wear, ugh!
Nickelback - I'd rather you kill me.
3 Doors Down - See above.
Limp Bizkit - Poseur with no brain.
Godsmack - Hi, I wish I was Layne Staley!
Oasis - Consistently pompous in interviews AND their music blows.
Twiztid - Hurl.
Insane Clown Posse - Don't EVEN get me started.
Radiohead - I know, I know, they're supposed to be genius, but I cannot stand them!
Creed - Scott Stapp couldn't decide whether he was Eddie Vedder or Jesus.
While I am young enough to know what emo is, I am old enough to not really understand it and as a result, feel old when I see emo kids running around. I don't think I like it. At least I have yet to be moved emotionally by any of it.
The Only New(er) Band I Like:
Avenged Sevenfold - Really talented, IMHO, and I've always been a sucker for shred.
Full disclosure: I have to admit (you may all start preparing to throw rotten tomatoes at me) to a liking for AFI. Their singer has a good, clear, bright voice and they did a good cover of 'Ziggy Stardust.' I like their old stuff and their new stuff.
That's cool that you don't like them, especially since I admitted a fondness for AFI, but I think they were a really intelligent band. Did Tom Morello's weird guitar noises contribute to your dislike?

Rage Against The Machine were/was the greatest, most underrated band of the 90's. (IMO) Yeah, they were a rap/rock thing but the musicianship was top notch.
The whole rap/rock thing gets a bad rap mostly in my opinion because of Fred Durst. Not many people can take the biggest band at one time, and simply by being the world's biggest asshole, make it all disappear in an instant.
I'll admit to some good work on the group's part, but too much Pink Floyd makes me feel suicidal. I don't understand why Floyd is in such heavy rotation on the classic rock stations these days.
I'm finding the same thing with Coldplay. The lyrics can be happy as anything but there's a quality to Chris' voice that emotionally drains me.
i loathe the 80's band asia~
I didnt like rage because Morello had one guitar riff. He would play it differently, but it was basicaly the same one. And the pick slides pretending to be deejay scatching got old quick. Every song sounded the same. Zack's lyrics were comical as well. He would write 5 lines and repeat them over and over in varying degree's of volume. They were Limp Biscutt with a pissed off singer. Kinda like

What? Oh no you dint! Not my Pink Floyd! All time greatest band that ever walked the earth IMO
I cant really think of any that I would clasify as 'Worst" I can think of some that are annoying and I dont listen to them because of it.
Daughtry
mariah carey
Limp Biskit
the list is actually endless. But those are a couple if I think of more I will be sure to let you know.
Nothing, not even George Lynch, could save that band! I think of Freddy Krueger every time I hear them because of the song they had in Nightmare on Elm Street 5 or whatever.
LMAO!
Someone told me I looked like Celine Dion and it has haunted me ever since. Sometimes I look in mirror just to make sure I do not look like her.
That's even worse than the original, which was a blatan Bowie/Queen ripoff anyhoo.

I respect your opinion but comparing Rage to the Robbie Van Winkle trying to go hardcore is ridiculous. But you've proven in past statements that white guys "rapping" to rock isn't your thing. So lumping every white guy who's ever rapped to a guitar riff isn't unexpected. I guess if they grew their hair a little longer, used biblical questioning lyrics, threw a pentagram here or there on an album maybe they would be more respected. (Slayer, King Diamond, old Metallica, etc.) But you know us east coaster's always gets what's in style after Cali tells us what it should be.
You just made me think of something. I am bias. I never realized it. Im trying to think of a east coast band I like. Im having trouble. I don't like Aerosmith. Who would you say the biggest band from NY is? The Ramones? They were too poppy for my taste. Anthrax? Hmmm. I will get back to you.
Hell, dude the first one that pops into my mind was the Black Crowes. I don't know why. Kiss was never a great band, Aerosmith from Vacation through the mid-90's were OK. Boston was before my time..........hmmmmmmmm.....
Rage, Chili Peppers, Metallica, G'N'R, System of A Down etc......all from Cali.
I'm currently wearing a Led Zep shirt, I like Sabbath too.......UK though.........shit.....good question
ok. I found some East coast I like.
The Cars
The Beastie Boys
Minor Threat
Bad Brains
Smashing Pumpkins
Quicksand
Helmet
Fugazi
Dr. Hook
Springsteen
KISS
............"falling out of chair"..........he said the Beastie Boys.......God bless you. Let me guess......Ill Communication era?? The "lets pick up instruments and drop the gold chains era?" Paul's Boutique for me.......well everything really.
Dixie Chicks (Not rock but wtfe) - Natalie Maines reminds me of a garden gnome
Fleetwood Mac- hate hate hate
REO Speedwagon
I like everything from the Beasties up to Ill Communication. I stopped when they started rapping about Buddism and the dali lama.
"Natalie Maines reminds me of a garden gnome"...............if that's an original line, I commend you. She's a loud gnome though. She's to the Dixie Chicks what David Lee Roth is to Van Halen.....Out of the bands they are the only one's who aren't family but they are both the most recognized.
Anyone and anything remotely associated with Neil Young- F**k him!!
James Blunt.... worse than Chinese Water Torture... what a douche!
Even though I'm not superstitious, every time I hear a song by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, I have bad luck, don't even try talking me out of that one
Nickelback, no charisma, no anything
James Blunt 'nuff said
I don't hate them per se but I never "got" the Stones. No attraction there for me at all.
The Beatles, don't really "get" the hype but there are some songs I like as they bring back good memories
I was never into Duran Duran either, even though all my friends were. Simon Le Bon just didn't do it for me. At the ripe old age of 11, I considered myself to have more sophisticated and much better taste than that, read Shakin' Stevens, Kajagoogoo
I once went and seen Judas Preist ,Motorhead and a glam band named Dangerous Toys opened up for them. The singer was wearing hot pants and a cowbow hat and boots. They were not only booed, but all the bikers there for Motorhead began ripping down the barricade to get to the lipsticked rockers. The band had to be escorted out of the venue.
I hate the Eagles and the Steve Miller Band as well. They both sound like the same band to me and they grate my spinal column. The Steve Eagles Miller Band. Yeah thats them...
Abracadabra...WTF???
Nickelback and Creed, All of their songs sound the same, they have zero range, it is annoying
I never grabbed a remote so fast in my life as when I had the great misfortune to hear Maroon 5. My husband thought the athletic days were long over before he saw me come running to make a dive for the mute button.
Moby I don't get.
.....and Nirvana fans don't throw a flannel shirt at me, but I find much more enjoyment with Foo Fighters than I ever did with Nirvana. Grohl has grown up and the music reflects the bitter sweetness of life. It doesn't all suck.

I went to see KISS when GW was opening for them. When we got there, we found out KISS wouldn't be performing due to Paul Stanley being sick. They gave us an option - either money back on our tickets or GW could play twice as long. Within 5 minutes you heard the sound of crickets in the stadium...
MAN! That brings back memories! Jefe, don't hate me, but I have the 1 and only CD Dangerous Toys made. Teasin' Pleasin', Take Me Drunk I'm Home, can't remember any others.
For me, most despised is definately the Beatles, Neil Young, (sorry) anything grunge, and whatever that crap they play today is called. Thank God for Sirius.

I've read through most of the posts here and while there is plenty I disagree with, I was quite surprised no one added Bjork to the list... I'm afraid I will have to just assume all the Nirvana, Beatles, and Korn haters love Bjork...
I am a Celine Dion hater also..I have a water bottle set aside to squirt at her in case I ever run into her! Wish she would just go away!
Yeah her and Mariah Carey.

I confess, I was living in Europe at the time and I was *always* going to England in those days. Long trips on the ferry, a lot of waiting in lines . . . it all makes you read some pretty interesting stuff (Smash Hits, Podium, Bravo, a lot of European music "bibles" ).
I loved his hair, wanted the same style and color but my mom wouldn't let me. But not to go off topic here.
Does anyone here remember 99 Red Balloons by Nena? Never liked her or the song although she's meant to be really nice.
Mariah Carey
Celine Dion
good voices but lack of substance
Jamiroquai - I don't know why but I can never get into his music. Then again, I'm not trying tooooooo hard
There's more I'm sure. But let's not overdo it with the traumatic memories
