It sounds like what my kids would produce if given a guitar and a metal trash can.
You are more than welcome to try and play with as much speed, accuracy, strength and virtuosity as these guys. And yes, the vocals are unintelligible, but they are awesome. If you can watch a movie like Lord of the Rings or something and appreciate the ferocity and terror of an orc or dragon roaring, why can't you appreciate screamed vocals? And besides, a lot of clean singing is unintelligible too unless you have the liner notes in front of you.

And I'm not allowed to defend the music I like? This is a discussion forum. It is meant for discussifying.

I'm personally not a fan of death metal, I do have to agree that some of what I have heard instrumentally has been impressive. I do think it's funny how emo and Hot Topic tee-shirt some of the band names are though.

Music is like porn at least that's what I tell my husband. Everybody's got their thing. He likes Tiki music and old commercial jingles.

RiotBoots, I think my son owns every crappy looking t-shirt from every little known band that is available at Hot Topic. He wears them with every shade of ugly skinny jeans imaginable, also from Hot Topic. Hubby and I should practically own the place by now.

Bless your heart! My daughter was really into that Hot Topic store. Which reminds me of this.... probably my favorite South Park Episode.

I can tolerate the t-shirts, but those jeans are ugly as hell. I know he has at least twenty different pairs of them in various shades and colors and he doesn't own one single pair of any other kind of jeans. Everyday he wears some type of band shirt, skinny jeans, a flannel shirt, and a knit beanie. My youngest daughter went through the Hot Topic phase for a couple of years, but she outgrew it. I hope he does, too, soon! I'll have to make sure to show him the South Park link.

I know! The Tripp pants? My daughter had a few pairs, and I've never seen so many damn zippers! Not even on the parachute pants from the 80's had that many zippers! I'm like you, I can handle and even like the tee shirts, but the pants? A few years ago, my daughter wanted these spike black heels they had at their online store.... I showed them to my husband.. and he said and I quote "There is no way in hell I'm buying our 15yr old daughter hooker shoes!" (I think they even had zippers in the back..) I laughed my ass off at him! Needless to say, she kept on sportin' her converse. haha I think he'll out grow it.. Mine came out of it when she was about 16 maybe a few months before. I still have an 11yr I pray doesn't go through that phase.

He must have NO ASS whatsoever to get those things on! My boys have BACK to them, and there's not a chance in hell they could wear skinny jeans even if they wanted to!

I bought my 11yr old son a pair of Levi's skinny jeans, and he's just an average size kid... but had a hell of a time getting them on. He kept asking what was wrong with them, then took them off and said he didn't like the "nut hugger jeans" I never made him wear them.

Oh, he's got plenty of ass. I just said he wore them. I didn't mean to insinuate that they looked good on him. He has that whole muffin top thing going on. lol
He doesn't have any of the Tripp pants. His are Social Collision. My damned drawers aren't as tight as those jeans. He got somewhat offended when I told him he looked like twenty pounds of shit in a ten pound bag.

Unfortunately, my daughter has the same issue, super skinny jeans, muffin top. Just don't tell HER that! She thinks she looks like a bombshell in them! (Hell when I was her age, I "thought" miniskirts looked super sexy on my large frame)

hahahaha that's too funny! You gotta love kids! I've not heard of the S.C britches. Maybe Tripp is outta style now and that's the "In" thing with them. lol I can see your son now... Tripp? That's soo 2009!

I may be wrong, but I think the Tripp brand was mostly for girls. They still make them because I saw some a couple of weeks ago. The ones he wears don't have any zippers on the legs or anything. They are more like jeggings and so narrow at the ankle that I don't see how he gets his huge feet through the hole. They are as tight as spandex all the way down his legs. Muffin top isn't flattering on anyone. Most people seem to think they look slimmer in skin tight clothes. I think it makes them look fatter. Just because they can pour their ass in a pair of pants that are two sizes too small doesn't mean they should.

    Can't Stand:

Bruce Springsteen (just about everyone over 30 will always mention him as one of their favorites).

Nirvana (hate how people go on and on how music died when Kurt did and how he was the voice for Generation X). Grunge changed music for the worst.

Beatles (over rated big time). People will rave about their late 60's masterpiece songs that were nothing but drug induced babbling.

Simon and Garfunkle (get sick just thinking about that mess).

    U2

    Blues Traveler

Hootie and the Blowfish (sounds like a cow under a riding mower). That stupid "I only want to be with you" song has been playing on the radio, malls, restaurants etc....non stop for almost 20 years.

Pretty much any music since the 90's. I joke that music died after the 80's.

Just to clarify, I'm a huge fan of all types of metal, but I still find these videos funny as fuck. There's a cracking one for Machine Head's Imperium and a couple of good Pantera ones too

I don't know why, but Trivium irritate the shit out of me. I can't quite put my finger on it...

I'm sure I'll get some kind of negative comments on my list as an avid lover of music- mostly rock- here is my list of groups or music performers i HATE and my reason why-JMO- here goes
U2- never did anything for me hate bono with a passion
Beatles- yep I can't stand them overrated big time i just don't get the fascination who the fuck likes "the yellow submarine" or the stupid "walrus" song
Grateful Dead- hafta be brain dead to listen to their shitty drug enhanced vomit
Stevie Ray Vaughn- yep another overrated somebody he may be ok playing blues rock but can't sing worth a shit- if he were alive today no one would care
Jimmy Hendrix- never got him either just because somebody dies doesn't make them great to me "Hey Joe" "Purple Haze" scuse me while I vomit
Yes- how's about a big fat NO- hate the singers voice and their soo boring songs-where's that vomit bag at ????
Doobie Brothers- never got this band either, not a big fan of michael mcdonald and hate just about everything they put out -"listen to the music" "Jesus is alright with me" pure vomit
Black Sabbath- overrated just because they were one of the first doesn't make them one of the greatest-not a big fan of Ozzy other than "Iron Man" and "War Pigs" they pretty much suck ass for me
Led Zeppelin- another overrated bunch of crap, I'm so damn sick of hearing all of their shitty ass songs they are played too damn much for my taste- just never got the whole hype
Pink Floyd- "Hello is there anyone in there" WTF is that all about probably the most overrated band of all time- pot smoking music is all this shit is- I need another vomit bag just remembering what they sound like
Lou Reed- Awful garbage never got his shit either "Take a walk on the vomit side"
Bob Dylan- only the druggie 60's could produce such a leprechon(sp) man couldn't sing for shit but Rolling Stone magazine made him out to be some kind of GOD- man can write but worst voice ever-makes my vomit wanna vomit
David Bowie- overrated piece of crap drag queen- never got him or the hype surrounding him Ziggy Stardust WTF
Any Boy Band -Fill in the Blank Please-teeny bopper 11-12 year old girls don't know shit about music from the Beatles to the Jonna Brothers or whatever the fuck they are- I can feel the wrethcing starting........
Bob Marley- another overrated POS- I don't wanna hafta get high to enjoy my music- guess it does'nt help that it's reggae music -just not my style- another one who is famous because of death good fucking grief
Dave Mathews Band- just don't get it- little too jazzy and soulful for me- whatch out here comes the vomit-overrated bar band
Bruce Springsteen- another one I just don't get- horrible voice and goofy as fuck- shoulda sang "Born to Vomit" overrated big time
New Country Music- can't stand how popular this crap is-every song bout drinking beer, sitting on tailgates-youve heard one you've heard em all- please make it stop- this stuff ain't worth vommiting over

That's it for now like i said I'm sure i ruffled some feathers as they're are alot of popular names here -just my opinion and I feel soo much better getting all that vomit out of my system!!!

You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

And if it helps you, I knew the guy back in the Asbury Park days.....he was a self-absorbed ass then and is probably still one today.

Bon Jovi (derivative), KC and the Sunshine Band (formulaic pap, and that's being kind). The latter was a tad hostile (Hey, cool name for a band!), so let's be fair to Huey Lewis: He is what he appears to be.
