    Smile Audrey Hepburn

We can't have a death forum without a mention of Audrey! One the most beautiful and talented women ever. I'm glad she died peacefully and not in a horrific way like some have.

Read the book her son wrote about her. She basically abandoned the poor kid. She's not the angel everyone thought was.

I can't believe this thread has been around so long and only has 4 post. I guess she is overrated. I would have nailed her though.

    Hello fellow death hags.

I've come out of Lurkville to respond to this post.

Although i haven't read the book, looking at the views it seems to show none of this son's statements appear to stand up as fact.

What I have read about AH is that she truly was a lovely person without a nasty bone in her body - people who knew her well likened her to an angel.

I really don't believe she was capable of treating any child in any kind of mean way.

I have the book written by her 'legitimate' son and it is a wonderful legacy to her goodness - he adored her and she was a fantastic mum.

I have read that Mr. Byczynski has for years volunteed to take dna test to prove his story but the Ferrer's won't let that happen for some reason. If they want to disprove this man and shut him up that is they way to do it. Bashing him in the press and refusing to deal with it makes them look like they have something to hide.

Here are the some of the titles of Amazon readers' reviews of the book in question:

"Creepy Fantasy from a Sick Mind"

"Don't Believe a Word in this Book"

    "A Sad Piece of Work"

    "Worthless Nonsense"

    "Paranoid Egocentric Conspiracy Trash"

    "A Waste of a Book"

    "Pulp Fiction"

"To All at Brunswick Publishing: Hang Your Heads in Shame"

    "A Travesty!"

    "This Book is All Lies"

The "information" in this book completely contradicts every known account of this woman--so do we believe this one loony tune, or the literally hundreds of others who knew her intimately and worked with her, who claim the opposite?

Audrey Hepburn led an exemplary life, LOVED children, and tried unsuccessfully (several miscarriages) for years to have one of her own prior to that actually happening. Any asshole can get a book published, we all know that.
Where is the proof that Hepburn was his mother (other than a few "friends," etc. who are now all conveniently dead)? This guy provides little to NO evidence for any claim he makes, and anyone who honestly sits down to read it will know a delusional mind when they see (or read a book written by) one.

This is one "celebrity," "star," whatever you want to call her, who simply doesn't deserve this; a woman who SUCCESSFULLY navigated the cesspool of Hollywood without succumbing to it; who actually deserves to be looked up to, and who could honestly be deemed a role model. How RARE is that???

I don't get it. Oh, wait a minute, yes I do--$$$$$$. It makes the world go 'round, baby.

That is weird. On the face of it, I'd say it sounds like delusions of grandeur. (I always hear the voice of Karen Lee Gorney (sp?) in Saturday Night Fever when I say that.

The most dispiriting story I ever read about the lovely Audrey, in a "legit" bio, was how she more or less made a fool of herself over Ben Gazarra. Of all people.

Other than that, agree, she managed to project a ladylike image, something I think we'll never see again.

I was lucky enough to get within 10 feet of her at a function once in the 80s. Lovely as could be, of course, escorted by the handsome Robert Wolders.

All it takes is one test to prove him wrong and the memory of St. Audrey can live on.

WTF?! ive never heard about this guy. Audrey has two sons, one of them Sean is Mel Ferrer's son, and the other one Luca is from her second marriage.
i dont think that Audrey was a saint, she was a human being, but shes one of the few celebrities that has never been bashed by her colleges and ive never heard a bad thing about her.
ive always read that she loved her boys dearly, and that she was a great mother. Actually, it is said that William Holden was the great love of her life but Audrey left him because Holden had had a vasectomy done and Audrey couldnt bear the thought of not having children.

She did seem to have a case of the Eternal Sadness and she was definitely anorexic all of her life. Like so many the war seems to have screwed her. She was so cute and she had a great voice. She was the perfect Holly Golightly.

That book is complete trash, sorry. If it was something that was really in question, EVERYONE would've known about it or been asking questions. There are other biographies that are trash as well. The Diana Maychick book is a bunch of stuff thrown together, and she claims to have known Audrey, which isn't true

No, of course she wasn't a saint, but perhaps you should read the book Sean wrote about her, or the book by Warren Harris.

The reason Audrey was always so sad is because of all the suffering she saw during the war; it stayed with her, and fueled her need to help the starving children in Africa and become an ambassador for Unicef.

There's really no need to try and bring down Audrey based on a piece of garbage written by a man no one has ever heard of.

From what I read from her co-stars, most everyone loved Audrey. How could you not love her? When she was filming Paris When it Sizzles on location in Paris in 1962, Holden would stall filming with all his drinking bouts. He was having a hard time filming scenes with this former lover. I really believe Holden and Hepburn would have married if it hadn't been for his inability to have children (vasectomy done after the birth of his 2 sons). To Holden, she was the one.

I read the book by her son Sean Ferrer. I remember it as a very loving memoir for his mother and my impression was she was a terrific mother. Very loving and very hands on with both her children. She even gave up acting (or did less of it) when Luca was born. Her marriages may not have worked out well, which is pretty common when they are connected to Hollywood, but as far a being a mother...that was a top priorty with Audrey

Jefe is talking about another book (link farther down in the thread) by some guy from Baltimore who claims he's her illegitimate son from right before she moved to London to model. He doesn't mean the one by Sean.

Once again NL thanks for all the wonderful pictures.

A lot of nutsos fantasize about being a famous person's kid. They even convince themselves and therefore demand the DNA test. I don't blame her real family for not stooping to recognize this crazy. Who knows what other nut cases could come out if they did.

Shame on the publisher for publishing the rubbish when he has no real proof he is her son.

Audrey may have not been a saint, but she came damm close to it. Her last starring movie role was in "They All Laughed", co-starring....Dorothy Stratten and John Ritter. I always love the film, and I find it a classic.

I always thought she way too skinny too. Looking at the photos in the the thread I think she looks lovely when she's dressed in natural, casual looking clothes but the glamourous look doesn't sit quite right with her.

From what I read, she did die pretty horrifically - any death from cancer is at the top of the list of horrific. She was in agony for months. Unfair for anyone, but especially for someone that good.

The local Boston Pizza has photos of old movie stars up on the wall. Audrey, James Dean, Marilyn, and the like. Now, I expect the young whippersnappers around me not to know who anyone is. But my own mother had to ask me who "the skinny brunette" was.

How do you not recognize Audrey Hepburn?????

I believe that Audrey was one of the most beautiful women ever. Her smile was just radiant. I would kill for eyes like hers. Her spirit just glowed. Audrey came across as a very kind and caring person, and that is what made her most beautiful to me. I've never heard a bad word said of her. In Hollywood, that takes some doing.

I loved her, "pixie-ish," appeal. Roman Holiday and Sabrina were two of her most enjoyable films.

I don't see any validity in a negative book on her life. Negative publicity didn't exist during her years as an actress, mother, wife.

You see many of the past stars kids have made money by bashing their parents name after they die... as you can see they did it to Audrey in the book and Lucie Arnaz Lucille Ball's daughter made a documentary about her parents using home videos and things like that in which she totally bashes Lucille Ball's reputation
