Tried to watch it again over the holidays, couldn't get into it.

I stopped watching all the soaps years back but Corrie especially cranks my gears. There was a storyline a while back that made Bobby Ewing coming back look like Shakespeare. The fans turned on it so much that at one point there was even a question whether it would be axed.

It's a good thing there are sets of DVD's that have some classic episodes from the old days. Hilda and Stan Ogden, Bet Lynch, Elsie Tanner. They were the best.

When Katherine Kelly who played Becky Granger/McDonald left that was it for me.

She has said never say never about going back, but I really doubt she will need to, unless it's a favour to someone. She seems to be getting role after role, in really good dramas. She's also presented some true crime shows so I doubt she will need to go back with her tail between her legs like some do.

I can't think of too many Corrie St. alumni that have gone on to bigger things. She has had some great roles since leaving. Mr. Selfridge, Class, Liar, Strike Back and Criminal U.K. A really diverse actress.

Off the top of my head, the only other ones I can think of are Suranne Jones (Karen) and Sarah Lancashire (Raquel) who has just landed the role of Julia Childs on a HBO Max show.

I have been a fan since the early 1980s and enjoy it today.

RIP Johnny Briggs (Sept 5 1935- Feb 28 2021) he was best
known for his role as Mike Baldwin from 1976 to 2006 on the show.

So glad that William Roache who plays Ken Barlow
on the show has recovered from Covid 19.
Remember the man is 88 years old.(and has good hair)
