Kind of a fan of hers; don't know if I could see any morgue photos.
The ones I saw were not gory but as a fan it might be difficult to look if you get emotional about her.

I am a fan as well, as far as keeping her memory alive...there are far better ways to do this. Do you know if there are any scholarships or anything like that in her name? That would be a good way to keep her memory alive. IMHO, I really feel like they did her legacy wrong, altho I am no Selena expert...
I wanted to buy a shirt for a co-worker's birthday~but I was totally appalled at what the official site had to offer. Surely they could have created some better looking merch-she was so beautiful. I didn't purchase anything-I was kinda upset for some odd reason.
In May, I stayed in the same Days Inn that she died in. I had planned to get some pics to send to Scott, but someone beat me to it.

Definitely before. She isn't cut, and still even has the tube in her mouth

In highschool I had a friend who was obsessed with Selena (she had been dead for like 3 years at this point). He had posters of her all over his walls, and he listened to her music all the time, he even claimed to have flown out to meet her family.

I can understand the family not wanting to SEE these pics, but I say don't look at them...they have been out there for a long time now. I also agree about them trying to make money off her still...from the movie I gathered she was the main income for the whole family one way or another. If they wanna sue they need to go after the weasel that shot her..I saw her in aninterview saying she was innocent and that Selena was having an affair etc. etc. I would rather fight that than some pics BUT the weasel has no money. I am still a fan her voice was beautiful.

That whole family disgusts me. The day after she was gunned down the family setup a 1-900 condolence hotline so fans could pay $3.95 a minute to leave a message. Who does that after their child has been murdered?!?

A couple years later that same family tried to force the city to pay for an entire museum in her honor. Seems that they wouldn't show any Selena memorabilia, even in a temp exhibition, in the existing musuem. I believe there was a bond issue put to the voters, but the voters soundly rejected the proposal. I went to Corpus Christi to she the exisiting Selena "museum" but all it existed was a tacky boutique/nail salon that wanted $12 entrance fee. I photographed the "museum" from the streets and some woman came screaming out at me, saying she was confiscating my camera.

And have you seen the Selena seawall statue? She looks like a hooker trolling for a john in that pose. When I was there a bunch of college kids were dry-humping her and taking pictures. What a tribute!

And do you know why there was an open casket? Because at the funeral the casket was initially closed and people started a near riot, screaming she wasn't dead and all this garbage. All in all, I feel no sorrow for that family.

As for Selena herself, well nobody deserves that.

I had heard about the 976# for her.

The family sounds like a real piece of work. I bet her father saw all those money signs the day Selena first sang and danced for him and he was still seeing them when her body was shown to him at the morgue.

I totally agree with you, tombstone. I know her brother got real heavy into drugs after her death and I really feel for her husband Chris. He did finally remarry. Like I said before, I'm no Selena expert, but her dad is {IMHO} a real peice of work (as you said Ares). I did not visit the musuem when I was in Corpus-on principal. Just as I did not buy my co-worker anything from the official website(see earlier post). I refuse to line her father's pockets because I feel he has done her legacy wrong. I have no sympathy for her dad, but I do feel for the rest of the family. She seemed to be such a wonderful person in addition to a great songwriter with the voice of an angel. I enjoy listening to her singing in Spanish, even tho I don't understand a word!

    I didn't know about the hotline...that's horrible.
For a long time I thought her family (dad more specifically) had nothing but the best of intentions for her memory. However as more time passes and these things keep coming up about money, it really doesn't look good on their behalf.
As for her autopsy pics, it's pretty obvious there will always be some website that contains them. As unfortunate as it is, once something hits the net, you can usually find it..you'd think they know that by now.

my parents actually went to the family home..or something of sorts cuz they have a museum or something.. a few years ago after a family reunion, my parents tagged along with my dads nephew and his wife and kids because they adored salinas(if you've seen the movie you know why i say it like that) and my parents said her father was very nice, my parents were actually shocked that he was there and stuff..
idk, salinas was amazing to me...and this is the first time i have heard anything bad said about ehr family..maybe i should do some research
but i do think its BS that they sue for stuff liek that

and the fact that they go out and look for it...i mean if you don't want to see it don't look for it..you know?

When the Supeona stuff came out what made me laugh about Scott was the scroll down thing.

Ugh...S****a's father. I feel for the guy because he did lose his daughter, but he's done nothing but attempt to cash in on her death. Her estate (ie her dad) has released soooooo many greatest hits albums since she died. They all have the same crappy tracks coupled with horrible artwork.

I live in south Texas, in fact, I live about 15 miles from the town Selena was born in (Lake Jackson) and her death was a huge deal around here. I wasn't a huge fan or anything, but I liked her English songs and I totally went out and bought her English album. The thing that bugged me was that they put out the movie really soon after her death. Even back then, I thought that was really tacky and smacked of "cash in".

and actually i dont think the family goes out and looks for things like the pictures and things, its some of her fans. if you go to the message board for Selena you can see that if anyone there see's photos of the autopsy they report it to the Quinanilla's fot the site to be shut down or whatever - im not one of them and im not sure why they go to all the trouble to look up things and send them to the Q's but whatever! it seems like a waste of time to me, just dont look at the photos if you dont like them.

That was very wrong of you to embed those pics in your message. I love this forum and FAD, but I never, EVER look at the dead pics. Scott does such a great job in warning us. That scared the crap out of me! Please be considerate of other ppl next time and don't embed, just attach a link.

I happen to disagree with that Aries... FAD is about death but it isn't about shock, they always give fair warning with dead pics so an individual has the option to click or not. Not everybody can handle it and not everybody on here should be expected to.

I would appreciate fair warning FoxMulder... for whatever that's worth.

You know on the one hand the whole Subpoena, and Dale Earnhardt no autopsy photo thing is a bit unreasonable, but still I can see why their family did not want pictures released; they are probaly afraid that they'ld google the wrong webpage one day, and see their dead loved one splashed across their screen. My family was kind of the same situation in 1965 when my mom's older brother was killed in a motorcycle accident waiting at a signal light...the local paper's put pictures of his dead body in the roadway on the front page; they were grieving, and seeing that did not help at all.

I liked how Scott had it though; via text links on a seperate page, and I saw no harm in that, but Subpoena's father still...

Out of every bad sometimes comes some good. His death forced the state of New Jersey to close off a dangerous intersection, and freewayise it. Anyone who's been to NJ knows that the freeways there are made from preexsisting roads. Interchanges, and land acquisition for them only happens as the intersection get's very busy. My mom still has a copy of the newspaper, and to this day she refuses to look at it.

Tame or not, some just don't want to see it. It's not even always about the photo being grotesque or morbid; it could be an emotional issue for some people.
At least if you have a link, it's the person's choice whether or not they click it.

a picture of a pumpkin is tame... a picture of a corpse in a box can be graphic to sensitive individuals. Just the respect of a link with a warning is all that is asked, not a big deal. Also... this is the forum we want to be in, nobodies going to find a new one... if graphic pics keep popping up with no warning I will report that user.

fyi, I am not even referring to the pics of Yolanda... I am referring to dead bodies or anything of a grotesque nature.

I know Aries... but it can be all about death with a "WARNING" prior to my viewing. I love Find A Death for its decency and consideration towards the users. I know I'm gonna get shit for this and I am not bitching for the sake of bitching... certain pics can really come across as disturbing to certain people and they should have the right to choose what they see and read.
