This Olympics is making me nervous...like Atlanta in '96. I hope they are prepared. I really do.

Blessings to the athletes...especially the AMERICANS!

GO AMERICA! DEFEAT CHINA AND RUSSIA AND EUROPE IN THE MEDAL COUNT!

Pullin' for the Canadians, the Mexicans and the South Americans, too!

It wouldn't be the first time for NBC. I can remember back in the 1980 when the US boycotted the Moscow summer games NBC had the rights to air them too. Since America wasn't involved NBC was left with pretty much nothing to air such as our local NBC station who had to end up airing Jim Bakker and his PTL Club during PRIME TIME and they lost money big time. Come to think of it I think just about all of the NBC stations had lost money that year which resulted in a few of them dumping NBC all together in favor of becoming an ABC or CBS station.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is the Mens/Womens hockey games.
    Go Team Canada.

Bring me back the good old days of the Olympics on ABC with Jim McKay! He knew how to cover an Olympiad and even the Up Close and Personal stuff were minimal so as to not interrupt the flow of the competition.

After Shaun White's performance yesterday, he probably wishes he was. Hard to watch. He was gracious to the gold medalist. I intensely dislike Putin but this should be about the athletes not all the damn politics. In the mid 90's took kayak lessons from an instructor who was on the 1980 US Olympic team for kayaking. Then the US decided to boycott the Moscow Olympics. He had trained for years only to be denied the chance to participate. He had a family and couldn't devote 4 more years to training. He moved on with his life but still had some regrets about what might have been.

That boycott wrecked quite a few careers. 65 countries boycotted, Australia wasn't one of them. Afghanistan has cast a long shadow for a very long time.

Well I always did like Canada's flag. Maybe we'll just borrow it for a minute or two. LOL

Your men's and women's teams both beat Team USA to win! Both Canadian teams were better than our teams. Congratulations!!!

I hate to admit it but Canada is going to lose against Sweden in the Men's
Gold Medal hockey game on Sunday.

Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz scored to help Canada win their second consecutive Olympic gold medal this morning!

Final score: Canada 3, Sweden 0.

Yes, I'd rather it would've been USA, but with two Penguins helping get the gold, I'm happy for Canada.

I've really enjoyed these winter Olympics. I probably watched more than in any previous Olympics. The wife and I sort of got into curling. She's been teasing about going to take a class. $25 for 2 hours.....she was getting into the terms....."Is that one a biter"? ""Yeah but they have the hammer". LOL

I've got Olympic withdrawal. No more curling, no more ice dancing.....*sigh*

I've been crushing on Meryl Davis. Yeah...yeah, I know. She looks weird......I've heard it all before, lol. But there's something about her. I love ice dancing anyway. Its sex on ice! I love Charlie and Meryl together. I was looking at a pic of them today and IMO they both look seriously older that their age up close. I think she's 27, he is 26. But the bags and lines under their eyes, eeeeeek. I'm hopin she will eat a sandwich or something, finish her cultural anthropology degree, and decide to marry me!

I watched the closing ceremony last night, and I really liked what they did with the mascots. When Misha rolled that tear, I almost rolled one myself.

I enjoyed Meryl and Charlie, their movement on ice was so fluid.

And speaking of the Olympics, San Diego is putting in it's bid for summer, 2024. We are above the 41,000 hotel rooms required, (46,000). Beautiful place for it! We love it here.

    The pitching has begun ...

The only negative appears to be the size of our airport, single runway. However, we're border close and Rodriquez International has 10 runways. A walkway across the border is expected to be completed within the coming months.

Something wrong with me today. I confused the limpics with the world cup. Sorry about that.

    Crikies Neil ...

UT San Diego does not treat the effort to secure the Olympics as one with great sincerity.

(SD recently bounced it's mayor, who sexually assaulted/harassed a number of women, costing the city 9M, and now our PD is under investigation. And the beat goes on.)

There's got to be a Putin joke in there somewhere, but I'm too tired/inebriated to find it.
If it doesn't work out with the summer games, they can always bid for the winter games instead.

Or the football world cup instead! However, your country must be a desert and the tournament must be held at the height of summer when temperatures will be hitting 50 degrees celcius (122 f) in the shade, just like Qatar.

The words, "Putin and Joke," are synonomous? ...

And he expects his little town by the sea will become an international tourist attraction ... Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

I think the Tokyo summer Olympics 2020 games that
were postponed will still be postponed for the summer of 2021.
