same here
Me too. Mister Josh is on it.
Just use one of the other internets.
They're slower, but they work.
What other internet? Or are you making a JimC joke?
I tried everything, different device and browser, to no avail.
Me, joking?
Do this:
1. Go to the forum one day using Firefox when you don't get the "server busy" message.
2. While on the home page, right click your mouse on any blank area (no text or images) of the page.
3. A little menu will pop up.
4. From that menu, select "View Source".
You'll find yourself looking at all of the code that makes up the webpage.
You'll see these two lines near the top (I've removed the opening and closing brackets "<>" to disable the code):
meta name="keywords" content="findadeath, scott michaels, dearly departed tours, findadeathforum, find a death, find a death forum" /
meta name="description" content="The message board for Find a Death" /
Just below that, you'll see this:
script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/yui/2.9.0/build/yuiloader-dom-event/yuiloader-dom-event.js">*********
5. Copy the URL portion of that line of code.
6. This part is important and will make or break your access to the original internet as it was first developed - modify the "http:" part of the code by adding a backwards "s".
7. Open a new tab in Firefox and search for "IE".
8. Open Internet Explorer.
9. Copy and paste the whole modified URL portion line of code into the search bar of IE.
10. Hit "Enter + 11".
Your internet connection will then revert from "www" to the original "w".
You're now connected to Internet 5 and can browse to the forum like always.
Give it a try.
You may get an error message that says, "Server Busy - Try Again Later"; or something like that.
Let me know if it doesn't work and I'll make up something else.
Good luck!
Oh, okay, thanks.
It only happened once a couple of days ago, came back on a few minutes later and no problem.
Is anyone still getting the "Server Is Busy" message? If so please let me know. I did change some settings but I believe this is a server problem which I am not associated with. If needed you can send me an email at: webmaster@findadeath.com. Thanks.
Got it last night when I tried to submit a post.
I have not seen that message since last weekend. No problems at all since then.
I got it a few hours ago. Seems less frequent, though.
I got the message today. Came back 30 mins later and didn't.
Ok. If it gets serious again please let me know. I'm working on the new "all device" Find a Death website. It is almost 3/4 done. Give me until the end of March and keep your fingers crossed. Thank you. And Cindy, thanks for all of the help you have given me to keep this going. Without you I'd be lost.
Thanks, Josh!
This is a new one. I can log in, but when I try to post I get "server is busy". Have to log out and try again. I think this is the forth time in less than an hour. Hope I can post this ! Lol
It's the same deal.
If it happens again, try logging out and logging back in. Works for me.
Was not able to log in at all last night. It's 7pm EST here. Must have tried for about 5 hours to get in on Thursday evening !
It's the server.
Mr. Josh said he'd sort it out as soon as he finished some other matters.
I see that the new FAD home page is up - it looks really great.
Actually, my old and seemingly outdated comprehension device might have combined elements of two of his posts into one, assigning to them a meaning that neither states separately.
I'm thinking of trading up to one of those new Solid State devices - I hear they can parse and retrieve info faster and more accurately - if I comprehend that accurately:
So, IDK.
I did see this oneand that's why I said that in the first place. What he means, Jim, is that likely can't do anything about it, but he's not giving up trying.Quote:

It acts a bit like physical limitations on the server; although it might be limitations (thus throttling) on the hosting account; hard to say from here.
I'm sure that's been investigated.
Perhaps the number of non-members looking around is choking it up a bit. Especially when somebody famous, or infamous, kicks it.
Damned non-member interlopers.
Slowing down our server and using up all our bandwidth.
It's a crisis of epic proportions.
Build a firewall.
I have been getting this message as well lately
That's the gist of it.
Even though something needs to be done, I'm not in favor of locking them out altogether, at least not forever.
I think there should probably be some area of the board that they are allowed to read; and maybe even some thread where they are allowed to post.
Sort of an area within the forum that's kind of restricted - walled off so to speak - from the rest of the board, a sanctuary thread of sorts where they can get in but not be a threat or a bother to us real Death Hags.
Yeah - something like that might work.
Ironically, when I clicked on this thread a little while ago to read it - I got the "server too busy" message...
Oh well - so much for the wall and sanctuary thread idea.
I thought it might catch on and possibly even have wider applications outside of the forum...
I have no problem with it being open to those who wish to view it. But, in order to post and take part I do think you should be a bona fide member.
I can respect that.
"Server busy" error keeps coming up. This has kept me away lately, it's annoying as an effer on the phone in drive through.
It's a server issue and we can't do anything about it. Try logging off and then logging back on. Works for me.
I'm in ! The first time I have been able to log in and post. Almost 4 days, that's the longest time yet. Like Ria said it is annoying but what can you do.
I think it might be something y'all ate - diet can cause all sorts of problems.
Try switching it up a bit and see if that doesn't help.
Believe me, if there was something we could do, we would.
I suppose y'all have had a look at the server error logs to see what the specific issue(s) might be.
The "server busy" message sort of suggests a resource issue.
Either that, or maybe something that you ate.
Log out and log back end.
The problem should now be resolved. Let us know if it happens again.
