Found these pretty gorey photos of Lee Harvey Oswald taken in the county morgue shortly after he was murdered by Jack Ruby.
Those are some interesting pics...Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing!
The first set of photos look like they were taken at the funeral home just prior to his burial. I don't know who handled the preparations but I assume it was the folks at Rose Hill, since the body is buried there.
I've lived in Ft. Worth for over 9 years now and I've intended to go over to Rose Hill and see his grave, but I've never gotten around to it.
There was a newspaper, or magazine article that I read as a child that said he was "Over Embalmed" almost to the point of mummification so that if someone 100 years from 1963 wanted to dig him up to see what President Kennedy's assassin looked like they would be able to see him.
In reality he was buried in a cheap "Moleskin" covered coffin and the vault had filled with water and when the coffin was raised the bottom fell out of it and he was nothing but bones.
The folks at Shannon Rose Hill will not tell you where the body is buried because of privacy issues. However, if you google his grave you will be able to see directions on the Internet. I did it the old-fashioned way years ago, I walked around the cemetery for three hours until I located it.
Fascinating! Ive never seen these before. Thanks for posting.
The pictures were great, thanks!
If I ever get over there I will post a photo.
I'm sure thery had a hard time finding someone to bury him, he was hated so much.
I used to work with a lady who owned a beauty shop in Dallas and she would do Marina Oswald's hair for free because she felt sorry for her and she had no money.
I just found this regarding his exumation in 1981.
A couple of ooogy pictures;

You know there's a LOT of spectulation that someone else and NOT Oswald burried in that grave.
That's so sweet! (That someone would do her hair for free, not the pictures although the pictures are quite interesting)
I remember reading several years ago that there were quite a few generous people in the Dallas area who helped Marina out with everything from little services here and there from hair, to dry cleaning, to helping her out with her english. I saw a movie about her once and it broke my heart.
Thank's for sharing the pictures. I can't belive I have never seen them before!I wanna see the one Tug is talking about too!
Hi Everyone,
Here is another photo of Oswald on the slab. Quite Graphic.
Love the stitches
Eeeewww!! :D
Hi Everyone,
Here are a couple of more pics of Lee Harvey Oswald.
It shows his decomposed head and a close of his teeth after he was exhumed in the 80's.
MMMMMMM give me a kiss!
Hi everyone,
I dug up this conspiracy photo which may actually show Oswald standing in a doorway watching the president driving by before any shots took place.
The person standing in the doorway bears a striking resemblance to Oswald.
Could it really be him.
Tel me what you all think! Eerie!
For those who live close to Dallas, the Dallas Historical Society offers an Lee Harvey Oswald tour every November. They take you by all the spots involved in the JFK assination as it relates to Oswald. I went last year. The guy who gives the tour has his own conclusions about what happened. This guy has made history a cottage industry. He also owns the Bonnie/Clyde Ambush Museum in Gibsland, Louisiana.
His business phone # is also the phone number that Jack Ruby had for years back in the 1960's.
It was worth the $45 I paid, which included lunch. An interesting way to spend the afternoon.
I'd LOVE to go on that tour! :D
Does he have it on Sunday?
I used to work on Marseilles St. just off Jefferson St.
That's where the "Texas Theater" is and just down from 10th and Patton where LHO was supposed to have shot officer Tibbits.
I used to drive by those places often and I was there when Oliver Stone filmed "JFK".
I couldn't believe how transformed Jefferson St. around the theater right down to the price of the socks in the shoe store window back to 1963, and I actually got to watch the re creation of the JFK assassination from the sixth floor of the "School Book Depository". It was eerie, just like going back into the past!

THAT really does look like Oswald!!! OMG!
I grabbed this link off one of the sites someone already posted...
It's a transcript of a TV interview with the medical examiner who claims that the body they exhumed did not have the same head he buried it with...
Interesting stuff.

I guess they wanted to prove that Oswald is really not dead or burried in the grave.? If that is Oswald in the picture how did he get to the building so fast in time to shoot Kennedy? It looks like him tho,but the pics of him at the funeral home don't look like him at all.
Ok, dumb question time...
Since Oswald lived in Dallas at the time of the shooting, why was he buried in Ft.Worth? Sorry not born when it all went down.
My husband's father is a drummer by trade and he won't talk about it much, but since we've been married 20 years, he guessed he could trust me, but in the 60's when work ran out, he would work at Jack Ruby's club under a different name. Most of the band used an alias, never their real name and were ALWAYS paid in cash. No taxes...
How dumb am I, went to UTA and drove right past the cemetary to and from school every day and never stopped. Didn't know where he was and only after I move away do I find out.
While I'm not sure if this is the case or not, I'd imagine it was because the people of Dallas weren't too keen on having his final resting place be right there amongst them...As someone said before, he was not exactly the most popular guy after everything took place.
Hi again,
Looking closely at the photograph of Lee Harvey Oswald standing in the doorway I noted that the type and tones of the clothes he is wearing look almost identical to the clothes he was wearing when he was arrested.
Also the hairline looks the same.
There could actually be something in this after all.
Hmmmm. Makes you think
one of Lees' and Marinas' daughters was on Tom Snyders' show many years ago. she was attractive and personable, said she and her sister had suffered no backlash.
i remember Lees' funeral. only marina,Lees' mother, funeral home people. journalists served as pallbearers.
Bruce Willis reminds me of Lee Harvey Oswald.
Lee Harvey Oswald had lived in Fort Worth and I think that's where his mom lived. For a time he went to Arlington Heights High School. The reason why he was living so relatively close to downtown is that Oswald didn't drive. He took public transportation everywhere.
JFK Tour: Retracing the Steps of Lee Harvey Oswald: TBA
http://www.dallashistory.org/images/...ne__small_.jpgJohn F. Kennedy and Dallas are forever connected in history. The 1963 downtown motorcade route and Dealey Plaza came alive on national television. Where did Lee Harvey Oswald live and work? What course did he follow on that fateful day? Many theories of what happened will be examined and discussed--but some will puzzle the most intelligent. Listen to a historic Radio Interview with Lee Harvey Oswald on a New Orleans radio station. Follow Lee Harvey Oswald's footsteps through downtown and his taxi ride to his Oak Cliff boarding house. On to the intersection in Oak Cliff where Oswald gunned down Dallas Officer J. D. Tippit--listen to the police recordings and see the Texas Theatre where Oswald was captured. Sometimes we get to visit the basement where Jack Ruby killed Oswald while handcuffed to a Dallas police officer. The grave, Oswald's final resting place, next to "NICK BEEF" is the final mystery. As in all of the Dallas Historical Society tours members will enjoy the day and learn from other people who join with us and have lunch at El Fenix--historic in its own way. Tour led by Ken M. Holmes, Jr. of Southwestern Historical Inc.
They usually do the tour around the anniversary of the death of JFK. It leaves from Fair Park on Saturday mornings.

She married a man named Porter and she still lives out in Rockwall. She had a son with him. She grants some interviews but these days I think the press leaves her alone.
There's a pornstar named Brandon Iron who has an uncanny resemblance to Lee Harvey Oswald.
I don't know why I post this, I suppose my screen name says it all. From the cover of a documentary on "fair Use" that I own, I give you - Lee & The Assassins
Thanks for posting as well, I have never seen these pics before.
I posted these of oswald in grossest dead photos thread

the guy in the background is not Oswald - his name was Billy Nolan Lovelady. he was a co-worker of Oswald's and could pass for his brother. Lovelady was interrogated by the FBI and had nothing to do with the JFK assassination. Wrong place at the wrong time. Here is Lovelady's mugshot - he was actually arrested by the FBI. Lovelady died in 1979.

I was actually living in East TX at the time of the shooting (Mrs. King's 2nd grade class). Moved to Fort Worth shortly thereafter. Interestingly enough when I was going to college, one of my friend was JD Tippit's niece. Also my FIL was on the FW Police Dept (sgt at the time I think) and shortly after LHO's funeral, he got a letter from Marguarite (Lee's mom) asking him to please keep an eye on the grave site as she was afraid of vandalism. His gravestone has been stolen a couple of times apparently. There are always articles in the paper in November about things; some (or one) of the reporters covering his funeral actually acted as pallbearers as there wasn't anyone there to help.
Also a few years back, some friends and I were in dallas walking around the general area about dusk and a black convertable '63 Lincoln limousine drove by. Seriously gave me goosebumps. I didn't know at the time that someone gives tours in it, maybe it's the guy/people you were talking about crazedfemale. Anyway, just out of the blue here comes this car with two guys riding in it -- was pretty wild.
Yep. That's Billy Lovelady in that photo. He identified himself and the clothes he wore that day. Remember too, Oswald went to his rooming house and changed clothes after the shooting, so the clothes he was wearing at his arrest weren't the same as he had on at the time of the shooting.
wow... those pics are awesome... thanks for posting them
Wow, I feel even more sorry for LHO and his family than I already did. He looks so small, thin and frail on the slab. He was like 23, so young, his kids never got to know him, and I'm sure people gave them shit, growing up couldn't have been easy for them or their mom. Marina spoke very little english, was like 19 or 20 with 2 kids, and was known as the widow of the guy who killed the president. I don't know if LHO did it or not I go back and forth on it, but Jack Ruby took away Lee's voice-a confession a trial, a denial, anything-just his side of the story.
I heard a radio interview a few yers back with Lee's brother. The brother believes that Lee acted alone. He said that Lee would have gotten a bigkick out of "the conspiracy theory."
