Here's a photo of Tammy Faye (Bakker) Messner on what I believe was a day or two before she died from cancer. Eventhough she was someone that I think everyone at some point or another made fun of...you gotta admit she had an undenyable faith in God. All of these pix were taken on the same day either the month or 3 days before he died (reports vary). Note one shows a morose expression yet another is gleeful. Don't know whether to read something into that or if this is the actor in him mugging for the camera.
He had gone gray years earlier, this was a family trait. Unless he was performing (on screen or live appearance) he'd let it go.
Check out his sharp 1959 Olds convertible, I wonder where it went after his estate settled and if it even still exists. His Will lists the serial number, one of these eons I'll contact some of the Olds clubs.
That doesn't even look like him to me. I guess it is the gray hair. I have read about his death several times and I still don't buy that he killed himself. I think his gf had something to do with it.

I'm gonna have to go through the thread and see if my photo of James Dean is on here already. Although I've seen one similiar, I have one of him in the car at the SCCA races where he was at before he headed for the dreaded crash site. I got the photo from a guy that was at the car club that day. Like I said I've seen a similiar one but this is him actually coming off the Track....I'll scan it tonight or try to and get back to ya.
And I have to say Tammy Fayes one of the worst...although we did make fun of her at some point, she looked like the walking dead at the end, poor thing.

I know this does not belong here but I wouldn't know where else to put it. John Steinbeck is one of my most beloved authors. I was on a double date a life time ago the the other couple were strangers to me. So you know you do that thing of lets see what we have in common. Books are a nice jumping point. Turns out that they loved him so much that she wrote to tell him so unaware that he had passed. She received a beautiful letter from Mrs. Steinbeck thanking for writing. I was lucky enough to read it. Mrs. S was a very gracious lady and I was so astounded that she took the time to respond to my new friend that I burst into tears. A great moment in time. Hello Fool Moon....I though that since I was not posting a photo, and that maybe there was a thread just for the wonderful Mr. Steinbeck (I am a zero at locating things), I should have posted the story elsewhere. Glad you enjoyed it. One of the things I love about this site is that it stirs up memories long gone. Love your name...I am often foolish and I love all phases of the big shinny ball.
