I wonder if the golden girls placed bets on who would be the last woman standing or atleast thought about it, these are the things I think about.

Happy B'Day Betty......many more to come
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

Back in her Password days while married to Allen Ludden, Betty had a reputation as quite the bitch. I remember seeing some of that bitchiness on the show when I was a kid. It was rumored she had a drinking problem back then. Don't remember if it was true or not. The media didn't twitter, facebook, papparazzi the stars up the ass like they do today. And I was a kid so I didn't have an interest in finding out. I just liked the shows, the stars and some of goofiest clues you'd ever heard when people were taking wild shots in the dark trying to beat that time's up buzzer.

I think she's mellowed with age and loved occasionally watching that show of hers where the oldsters pranked the youngsters. Mischievious and funny. Her SNL performance was bright, lively and funny. And she seems very happy with her life now. Who wouldn't to still be on the star map at her age.

From what I've read, she says the problems with Bea Arthur were because of Bea wanting to be Queen...well bee.

I'm almost 53 and about as bad. I think the chair and couch like holding me hostage. LOL

Of course, I have an excuse for at least six weeks since recently having knee surgery.
