We can strike manager Gary Hart from the living list...died of a heart attack several months ago.

edit- Fred has passed on, not sure about Kenji or Mil. John is still around, but I heard he's been in ill health.

Kenji Shibuya was awesome...used to throw salt in his opponents eyes and then beat the Hell out of them while they were
    temporarily blinded

I had a huge crush on Ric Flair, Jay Youngblood, and Ricky Steamboat when I was about 7. Yes, I was a little floozy.

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !

Back when WCW was alive I liked Scott Steiner and his brother ... geeze cant remember his name now. Scott Steiner was palling around with Buff Bagwell for a while but they had some sort of falling out.

My mom liked Owen Heart since he always ended his interviews telling the kids to stay in school and drink their milk.
It was Rick Steiner you were thinking of. You know, "The Dogfaced Gremlin".

    Ed Carpentier the Flying Frenchman.
    Vern Gagne.
Red Bastien (Novstrom, did he die in a car accident?)
And there was a really hunky tagteam..I cannot remember
their names......maybe Rick Martell and someone else??

Being from Texas, I loved the Von Erich's--Kevin was my favorite! I also loved Chris Adams (I use loved loosely, I was like 10 when they were wrestling out of Dallas.)

Nevermind, Red's partner Hercules Cortez was the one that died
    in the car accident.

    I liked Billy Robinson also.

I'm guessing since you're referring to AWA wrestlers, you are trying to recall Greg Gagne and "Jumpin'" Jim Brunzell:

I still love Ric Flare, hes probably the one id love to meet someday and sit down and talk shop with. He must be a bank of information since he was wrestling before it was so popular.

Val venus and his HELLO LADIES towel bit

    Jake the Snake Roberts

    Mr perfect

Sargent Slaughter was always fun to watch.

From what ive been told Sid Vicious is dead today

    Same with the Big Bossman

Best thing i ever saw was Hulk Hogan lift Andre the Giant and throw him, that was simply amazing, Wrestlemania 2 I think
Sid Vicious the punk singer for the Sex Pistols is worm food but Sid
the wrestler is still alive and well and living in Marion, Arkansas, just outside of West Memphis. He and my wife attended West Memphis
    High at the same time.

You are sick. And yes, I laughed. Weird story though.

Gawd I've been wanting a good rasslin' thread!

Still with us? Um...Foley is up there pretty high. Got the Flair DVD set for Christmas, it rocks. Bret Hart was a favorite.

Scott Steiner? Still a steroid freak, I'm guessing. Here's a pic I took of him last year. The scar under his shoulder blade is from surgery. He took a legit kick to the throat working in Puerto Rico. Ruptured trachea. They had to go in from the back to save his life.

LMAO! Buck Zumhofe! I think he's still promoting at least. The old AWA shows on ESPN Classic are a hoot. Too bad the best AWA footage is owned by Vince McMahon.

Whoa! What a coinkydink. I guess Buck and his promotion passed through central Illinois recently. I missed it!

The Brooklyn Brawler! Most famous jobber in wrestling. Steve Lombardi is the guy's real name. I believe he's still with WWE behind the scenes.

Yeah it says he does still work at WWE and also a little factoid, he for awhile played probably the stupidest character in wrestling history, Doink The Clown.

Oooh, I don't know if Doink was as bad as The Gobbledygooker! IIRC, Hector Guererro got stuck with this crap!

It's funny. As a kid, I hated everyone I was supposed to hate but the older I got, the more I appreciated the heels. Adrian Adonis, Honky Tonk Man. They were hilarious. How much fun would it have been to be a heel wrestlers in the 70's or 80's, managed by Bobby Heenan?

Behind the character though, an educated, kind gentleman. I have two friends who recently retired from the indy scene in the midwest. Their gimmick was they were the "lost love children" of George the Animal Steele. They met the original George, and he loved the fact they were using his old gimmick.

I'm definitely dating myself. My sister used to love wrestling in the early 70's, and I'd watch with her. She'd jump up and down on our canopy bed, damned near breaking the thing, and my parents would yell at her.

    But we used to watch:

    Pat Patterson
    Pepper Gomez (her favorite)
    Haystack Calhoun
I think, if I remember correctly, we watched Andre the Giant, too.

Why doesn't anyone remember The Rock's dad, Rocky Johnson? We watched him, too.

I loved tag team, but my very favorite was midget wrestling. I thought it was so funny, back in the days before everyone was politically correct.

    Ooh, speaking of wrestling scandals!

They came to our town when my sister was a teen, and my ex-father took her to the match, they had front row seats.

Two of the wrestlers came out fighting, right in front of sis, and one of them pulled out some brass knuckles. Which we know are illegal. Somehow my ex-father got involved, he was a cop, and he helped the security gurds to break up the fight.

They had thought of asking my sister to testify in court about the brass knuckles, they even brought her in and asked her to describe it to them, to verify that she actually knew what she was seeing. She was able to desribe it perfectly, but they finally decided not to use her, because she was a minor.

Boy, that incident made quite an impression on her. She can't remember what the outcome of that whole thing was, but she remembered that fight, and those brass knuckles!

I'll admit having a soft spot in my heart for the early IP. Used to go to the matches with my GrannyMac and Johnson. I can see in my mind's eye the early IP, entering the arena ( at that time, the matches were held in in Municipal Auditorium here in SA ) dressed like he is in the 1st pic, carrying a stuffed animal and quacking behind him, a pull toy duck ! I always wanted to be the kid he gave the stuffed animal to
