Thread: Murder of Meredith Kercher/ Amanda Knox

Every story I read about Amanda Knox raves about how beautiful she is but I don't see it. I mean she's not ugly or anything but I don't get all the attention paid to her looks. Maybe being in prison has taken a toll on her, though.

I feel she did it, i mean who the hell goes into their home, notices blood on the floor and in the bathroom and takes a shower before finding out what was the cause of the blood or alerting anyone.

I understand what you are saying.

Since she had roomies one would think that she would have at least tried to learn of who harmed themself just for the sake of common decency.

I agree. I don't get why they talk about how beautiful she is. Even in the photos of her before she isn't a knock-out. I've seen a lot more beautiful women.

I think Amanda is an average-looking person. I think the press tries to build up her "beauty" as a selling angle.

The prison chaplain thinks she is innocent. Interesting...

"I hope the truth comes out - and I truly believe that she is innocent of this terrible murder. She is suffering physically and mentally and she is also feeling the pain that Meredith's family are feeling for their loss.
â??They were friends, not best friends, and they had a cordial relationship with each other - she really does feel the pain of Meredith's loss.

â??For me there is no proof that she was involved in this terrible murder and if that is the case then she should be freed - I believe she is innocent and she should be cleared. cont"

I believe Knox is innocent. Not so sure of the others. Should have a verdict today.

She needs to be found not guilty immediately.

Each minute she is in prison is a minute we can't worship her as the next tv reality star.

I just don't know anymore.. I don't think she did it herself and I don't think things went down the way authorities think, but she had some role in this...

I don't think she did it. There was never any motive revealed (though I know that it isn't necessary) and just the shoddy DNA evidence as well as her nutty behavior afterwards. Chalk it up to serving 4 years for that.

Trouble is, the bungles could actually be the things that free her. Whether she's guilty or not. The prosecutor has said they will appeal if she's set free. This is going to go on for years

Forgive my ignorance but overturning a verdict, is that the same as saying Not Guilty or does she have to go through another trial?

Yes, but the prosecution has a right to appeal.

Apparently the American news networks are fighting over who supplies the plane to fly her home.....there are cameras in her family home.....maybe it's just my puritanical English upbringing but I'm finding this rather distasteful. I'm not against cameras in court- indeed there's talk of them being installed in UK courtrooms- but a girl has been murdered here. An innocent girl. This is not a time for showbiz style coverage

Her family is taking her out of the country as quickly as possible, and Raffaele (sp?) will be freed as well.

The little I could pick up, she's not guilty but she has to pay the lawyer and court costs. What was said about 90 days of something?

It said guilty but that was for slandering the police. The way the translator spoke she was guilty and had to pay 22m euro to the court. But then it said not guilty for murder....weird.

22m euro for slandering the police? Remind me to keep a civil tongue in my head if I ever visit Italy!

She Free Ya'll!!!! Wow - I know she is happy and her family is too, but I just don't know enough to decide either way. I do know the crime scene was pretty bloody... Curious to see what happens now.

I dunno what that is for. She set up someone else for the murder and he was cleared immediately and she has to pay him compensation. There's a fine, there's court costs etc.

I just feel so sorry for Meredith's family, her mum looks defeated.

That is my understanding as well. Because she accused the bar owner guy she will be fined for it.

I'm so glad that I don't really have an opinion one way or other.

Sky's interpreter was kind of second-rate. But to be fair, I think Italian may be like German, in that word order is very different from English and sometimes you have to wait until the end of sentence for the Italian speaker to get to the verb and other important words.
