I saw in an interview that her husband gave about 10 years ago that she quit acting to get married and have children (and to have a very successful business and development career), that she was not signed to any studio and that (according to husband) Frank Capra hired her specifically for the film, and that Capra and she kept in touch via mail, telephone, and the very occasional personal visit over the years until his death just over 30 years ago. Apparently she was a very lovely woman, very intelligent, and an extremely successful businesswoman as well as a mother and wife to her husband for 69 years (until his death).
