Was surprised to find I have 6 of his albums in my collection. Marvellous musician & composer who could swing with any other talent: Ravi Shankar, Itzhak Perlman, full symphony orchestra or with his own trio. R.I.P.

I loved his music, everything from classical to jazz. A great talent. RIP.

He really was. He was also a really funny guy as well. He appeared in a segment of the Morecambe and Wise show in 1971 which consisted of him trying to conduct an orchestra while Eric played the piano...badly. Eric who is seen as a comedy legend praised Andre saying he was one of the only people to appear on the show and get it right by playing it straight which of course made the scene so much funnier. Here it is for those who haven't seen it.

No problem, I have seen it endless times and I still laugh at it.

Yeah he was. She reportedly left him for Woody Allen.

Wow, I'll bet she regretted that.
