"Most users ever online was 3,392, 01-11-2016 at 01:31 PM."

I keep seeing that at the bottom of the page, and it always makes me curious:

Anybody remember what might have been going on around that time that created all that traffic?
    Sincerely yours,

It was the shock of the event that got everybody buzzing. He did a good job of keeping a lid on his diagnosis. His latest, and sadly, his last album had just came out on the 8th.

    Thanks, Cindy!

Now I'm trying to think if anybody else died around the same time - to provoke even more traffic - but nobody is coming to mind.

It seems to be only David at that time. https://www.findagrave.com/necrology...016&necCat=all

Not fond of the new format at Find A Grave.

Me neither. It doesn't even look like the same site.

Alan Rickman was like 3 days later. Maybe his fans were having premonitions, and making sure they knew how to find the site, in anticipation.

    Maybe not.

Shocking as that news was to me, I admired that he kept his illness a private matter. The gentleman had class.

IIRC, it went from his fans not knowing anything was wrong to his death at a youngish age. That's a long step down and I'll bet that shock triggered the flow to our favorite site.
