Entertainer Jon Stewart gave testimony on Capitol Hill today at a hearing on reauthorizing the 9-11 Victims Compensation Fund, which is set to be drastically reduced.
    He delivered a sharp rebuke:

“What an incredible metaphor this room is for the entire process that getting health care and benefits for 9/11 first responders has come to,” said Stewart, who has long made compensatory funding for 9/11 responders and victims’ families a personal cause. “Behind me, a filled room of 9/11 first responders, and in front of me, a nearly empty Congress.”

A friend of mine lost his brother that morning, he was just there for a meeting before flying back to Toronto. His wife is still receiving bone fragments. Horrible.
Today you could be standing next to someone who is trying their best not to fall apart. So whatever you do today, do it with kindness.

    Dang.
I didn't know they did that.
Good thing though - I'm really sure that at that moment in time, hearing Elton John's Rocket Man or James Taylor's Fire and Rain would have pushed me right over the freakin' edge. No telling what might have happened, let's not even talk about the Foo Fighters.

Because one channel found them insensitive does not mean they were banned.

This is a hard day for me as I lost a relative in one of the towers and a friend that was on one of the flights that hit the tower.
