Toronto Billionaire & Wife in Double Homicide

This has got to be one strange case. They were found this past Friday in their home, later reports say they died of strangulation. What this article does not say is that they were found hanging from a railing by their indoor pool. No sign of a struggle, no forced entry from what they are saying. The family (they have 4 kids) strongly dispute the murder\suicide theory. Hmm, my first instincts after hearing this was they had to have known their killer(s) if it was indeed murder. By all accounts they were a very down to earth couple that were loved by all. But, when you have a net worth of 4.7 billion something went wrong somewhere. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...ticle37363712/
Today you could be standing next to someone who is trying their best not to fall apart. So whatever you do today, do it with kindness.

I'm going with that also. If that was the case it's very sad.

Interesting how this is playing out. One paper says he was the salt of the earth, while another claims he was a deplorable human being. Taking all the advantages of his company to make even more money by selling generic drugs at a higher cost. Involved in many law suits with other companies, suing the builders of his home, and a family member who had sued him for a share of his nearly 5 billion dollar empire. Sounds like there might have been trouble coming their way, so suicide might have been the option to avoid whatever. Or, murder for hire if people were pissed off with them.

So sad to hear about the deaths in Canada both
were wonderful people( from what I read) who did so much for the
working class and poor people of Canada.

    They will be missed.

The majority of the articles I have read said they were wonderful people. Very giving of their time and money, but there is always a dark side to anyone's lives. Regardless of what happened it is a very sad ending for them.

At first I thought that it was. Now I do think that it was murder, more details are emerging that point to that. Police are still tight lipped on it, but they seem headed towards that conclusion.

I haven't read the new details, I see what my gut says then I wait and then read up on it months later to see if I was right.

Update - Canadian police are notorious secretive in cases like this which can lead to more problems - they learned nothing from the Bernardo/Homolka mess from 25 years ago.

Ligature marks on the necks of both victims strongly suggest they were both strangled, then strung up to make it look like he killed his wife, then himself, but the marks left by the nooses failed to conceal that. Likely double homicide.

Still a lot of speculation but nothing yet. A photo from the memorial, I would venture to say someone in that room knows something.

I'd have agreed with you a year or two ago.
But in the age of a President named Trump, I'll venture to say that a lot of the people in that room don't know something about anything.

OK - we're hearing talk of murder.
    We're hearing talk of suicide.
    We're hearing talk of murder-suicide.

Has anybody stopped to think that it might have just been a tragic accident?

You have a point, but even in the age of Trump and Trudeau, there is always someone who knows something. As for tragic accident, there is only one way I can think that might have occurred. They were playing a game, you never know what goes on behind closed doors.

I know, it irks me how it's run. As for Homolka, don't get me going ! Let's hope they do what's right for the men who have gone missing, and likely murdered by Bruce McArthur. I lived at Carlton and Church for years, know the area inside out. It gives me the chills thinking about it.

This would seem to rule out my "tragic accident" theory.
Some of those details make me wonder how it was ever considered murder\suicide.
I wonder what the motive could be?

You called it right. More info that it was the work of multiple killers, and they had died on Dec. 13 two days before they were found. When the investigation wraps their children want the house to be demolished. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toront...urce-1.4496686

Let's not forget about Doug (drug dealer ) Ford.
I wonder what his people have to do with this
    double murder.
Both Barry and Honey Sherman knew that Doug and Rob Ford
had many things to hide since the early 1980s.

Sadly, I think Doug Ford will die soon because like
brother Rob he is also into booze, drugs, and too much
    fast food every day.

Don't feel sorry for the man because being born with a
silver spoon in his mouth so hates the blue-collar workers.
(just like his hero Donald Trump)

Maybe Ford and Trump should pair up and run together as a matched set.

Really? I guess it depends on where you are in Canada. I'm close to Toronto, so I can still access it for free... for now ! Does Doug Ford have anything to do with this ? LOL.

Working theory, but can’t say anything due to sealed documents. What a drag.
Is the family fortune also sealed (frozen/inaccessible)? Perhaps until the investigation is concluded (if it ever is)?
