When I was a kid getting the presents was more fun but now I love to give them especially to little children. I can hardly wait till my grandbaby who is 6 months old gets old enough to open his.

Which type of gift for Christmas

Which type of gift would you rather receive?

12. #112
warmbear Guest
I would rather have gifts that sincere thought went into, cost is not an especially important consideration for me.

I would take the 1 $200 one, that way I can get something good. I always save up the vouchers I get and buy something I cant usually afford such as an ipod etc. Currently I have $400 in vouchers for 1 store and hopefully will get something good!

What an intriquing question....I picked the 2 twenties....I like to spend on other people, but have a hard time recieving.....

I would like the $20.00 ones so I could use them separately and not have to be tempted to spend it all at once.

I picked the 200 dollar gift. I think because I assumed it was from one generous person, and I thought I'd rather have something nice that lasts and I really want other than a few bits and pieces. I'm trying to justify my grabbing nature here lol

17. #117
warmbear Guest
There seems to be some confusion here (so what else is new).. I thought the question was whether you would like a single gift with a value of $200.00 or 10 gifts with a value of $20.00 each.. If you change this into gift certificates or money itself, the question is sort of pointless, imho.

I want the $200 gift. I get tired of so many little cheap Knick Knacks. I know I know the gift is probably from the heart but after Christmas I'm left with clutter.

I am so friggin' thrifty (ok .... CHEAP), I voted for the 10 $20 gifts!

And if you had included 20 $10 gifts ... I would have voted for THAT!

LOL! I feel the same way. It's inevitable that every year I'll get some bath beads that make me break out in a rash, or some left over Avon stuff from in-laws who peddle the stuff (I thought no one wore orange lip stick anymore,) but that's OK. I still enjoy opening the gifts. Plus, what I really end up needing this time of year is stuff like pot holders (because the ones I had finally went up in flames with the last meal I tried to make) or socks or a new pair of slippers. Nothing extravagant or expensive for this old bag!

That's what we do too. Actually the treat is that if you spot the pickle the upcoming year will be lucky.

We have the pickle, too, but my daughter's still too young to understand the meaning behind it. She just thinks it's funny that there's a pickle on the tree.

How about this one? It's an EGG!

A pickle used as an ornament on the Christmas tree seems odd at first, but this is an old German tradition. When decorating the Christmas tree, it was a practice to hang the pickle ornament last, hidden among the twigs. The first child on Christmas Eve to find the Christmas pickle ornament would receive an extra gift.

I know what to get you for Christmas!

I decorate my tree with Mardi Gras beads. All earned by showing my tits. Purple... Green...Gold. It makes for a really pretty tree and alot of fun memories. I do NOT plan to tell my daughter how mommy got the beads...I'm such a hypocrite.

Well, I guess it depends.. co-workers get "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" written on "Holiday" cards (the ones that don't mention christmas on them). Friends get merry christmas, happy kwanza, or happy hanukkah, depending on which one they celebrate.

This is an interesting question. Some people say "Merry Christmas". Other people say "Happy Holidays". I generally prefer "go fuck yourself".

These would fit nicely with the ghost ornament I have on my tree. Every year, my husband tells me not to put that ornament up where our family can see it. Every year, I ignore him.
