Robert Osborne TCM host and film historian

I haven't logged in ages but had to pay my respects:

Always loved turning on my TV and welcoming him into my living room.

I am really sad. I mean, I knew something was up when I didn't see him on TCM anymore. But its still sad. He was one of the main reasons I got into watching the TCM channel and old movies. I always looked forward to hearing him tell the little stories and facts before the movie aired. *sigh*.

    RIP Sir.

I so enjoy TCM RIP Robert Osborne.
You were a true class act.

Rumor is now that he has died TCM
will have cuts and commercials on
    movies.

    Hope they don't change anything.

His passion for film will be missed,a real gentleman in every sense of the word. TCM will never be the same without him. RIP Sir.

I always liked the little bits of info he would give about movies before it started and after it ended. What a neat guy. RIP.

TCM won't be the same. He had some very interesting guests. I was riveted when he interviewed Betty Hutton.

RIP, Mister Osborne, you were superb as a host for TCM. Your comments, asides and observations on the TCM movies were always interesting, intelligent and insightful.
    I will miss you dearly.
My prayers go out to your family and friends. Lucy and Robert Osborne 1960

TCM is gonna air tribute to him on March 18-19:

this link gives you the schedule.

anywhoo, still sad. I really hope, like other FAD hags, TCM doesn't change. But also read somewhere, awhile ago, that they
were considering adding commercials. UGH fuck that! I pay for the channel, if you put comms in there, then reduce the charge, assholes.
