Brazil Football Team Chapecoense Among Dead In Plane Crash

A plane carrying the Brazilian football team Chapecoense has crashed in Columbia as it prepared to land. There was 81 people on board which included 9 crew and it's been reported that 75 are dead and 6 were taken to hospital but one died on the way. A news report said that three players were among the survivors. At the moment they are looking at electric failure as the pilot radioed there was trouble before they lost contact.

It is. I was happily surprised. But I just feel for the families of the dead. All those young men with their dreams...

My prayers go out to all who lost their lives and the young men who survived this tragedy. God Bless them.

It looks like the pilot radioed they were out of fuel before the crash acording to the recording.

The survivors are three players, a journalist and 2 crew members. Of the footballers, the goalie needed his leg amputated, another is being treated for trauma to his skull and lungs and the other has had to have spinal surgery.

The survivor who died was a player who called his wife to say he loved her then passed and another had just found out he was expecting a baby recently.

They must have updated it, because the first article I read said electrical problems. The only thing I can figure is the fuel gauge didn't show the correct amount of gas.

This was partially pilot error. The aircraft did not have the fuel range to make that 1,800 flight. Apparently they were placed in a holding pattern. They radio'd the tower too late to tell them that they didn't have enough fuel. If they did so earlier, they would not have crashed.

I'm surprised we haven't seen any "uncut" pics? Usually other countries are very open about what they see...
