    EARL HAMNER July 10, 1923 â?? March 24, 2016

    EARL HAMNER, creator of THE WALTONS has died from cancer at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles at the age of 92. Besides THE WALTONS which was based on his own Depression Era youth in Schuyler, Virginia, HAMNER he was the creator of FALCON CREST and wrote storylines for episodes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, WAGON TRAIN & NANNY AND THE PROFESSOR.

    Guilty of not knowing he was still alive. 92 is a pretty good run and he left a nice legacy behind. RIP.

    He wrote a number of the episodes of the original Twilight Zone series - I was binge watching today and noticed. RIP.

    I remember watching the movie Spencer's Mountain and too young to know that it was what The Walton's were based off of. I was thinking the movie had ripped them off. Mr Hamner made quite a contribution to television back in the day, RIP!
