    My mum was a fan of his and that's how I know of his music. I wasn't even aware he was poorly so the news came as a big shock when I heard.

    My grandad suffered from the same illness and no one should have to suffer through that much pain. As cliched as it is, at least he is at peace now.

    I never heard of him but he was from Muswell Hill and they brought us the Kinks. I womder if he knew the Davies brothers? Rest in Peace.

    I remember seeing Alvin on stage years ago. I loved his music and meeting him afterwards was great too, a charming man who had time for everyone. He will be missed. R.I.P Alvin x

    My mum vaguely knew him in the early 70s. She taught his godchildren. She said he was a lovely man and she still has two little ornaments he bought her as a thank you.
