She wasn't doing good for a long time. She had a massive stroke overnight. She was a great polition. Her and Ronald Reagan were a great team against socialism. Exactly what we are fighting in America today

That's sad. I did a paper on her a long time ago. She really was quite extraordinary.
I love this picture of her.

She didn't ride on her husband's back to get where she was and feign affection for her husband like Hillary Clinton did.

Satan was waiting for the hag with open arms. I despised her for the damage she not only did to her own country, but to mine as well. This song was being played and sung at high volume in many a house today:

She accepted handouts from the social welfare system to get her education, and after she married a millionaire, she took the benefits she had enjoyed away from everyone else.

She was the epitome of strong leadership. Did she ruffle feathers? Many but she did what she thought was right for the country regardless with unwavering tenacity. The way she broke the coal miners union in 1984 was brilliant. The spineless pencil necks in DC could learn alot from her.

They had a sound clip of her addressing the church of Scotland on the radio this morning. What a gorgeous speaking voice she had. I'll admit I know very little about her, but from the little bit of reading I've been able to do today, she certainly lived a full life.

One of my favorite quotes of hers...
    "
if you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.” (Margaret Thatcher~ May 20, 1965, Speech to National Union of Townswomen’s Guilds Conference)

'In Margaret Thatcher's long career, violence in Northern Ireland provided an unrelenting soundtrack. And the conflict did not bring out the best in her.
It showed how the character traits for which she is best remembered had some very dark consequences, and how her celebrated "resolve" often came at a brutally high human and moral cost. In Northern Ireland, in fact, that resolve directly obstructed the cause of peace.

The most illuminating example is the hunger strike in the Maze (or Long Kesh) prison from 1980-1981. In many obituaries published today, the story goes that Thatcher "faced down" Irish Republican Army hunger strikers, as the BBC put it. By "faced down" they mean "let them starve to death." '

She was on my death pool. So was Annette Funicello (sp?) as an alternate.

The last time I think I saw Margaret Thatcher was at Ronald Reagan's funeral. She seemed so frail then. They did make a great team. Now they'll make an even better team in Heaven.

    God speed, Margaret.

Not giving in to mass murderers and terrorists demanding things with a hunger strike makes you a bad person?

In my opinion she ranks right up with the other great leader of that time, Ronald Reagan.

Let's add her complicity in her covering up of the truth about the Hillsborough tragedy. She knew full well the truth of the matter, and yet helped to bury it for 23 years.

Let's add her decimation of whole mining communities during the Miner's Strike of 1984. 29 years later and entire villages are rotting away under the spectre of mass unemployment that she and her government brought in to visit. There are families who were divided by the strike, who haven't spoken a word to each other since 1984.

Let's add in the wave of unrest that swept through areas like Brixton, Toxteth and Tottenham.

Anyone else remember her calling Nelson Mandela a terrorist?

Or her backing of General Pinochet's regime in Chile? My school friend did, it drove her entire family out of their country.

Margaret Thatcher was a hateful old bag whose policies and their effects are still being felt in Britain to this day. I agree with Finnegan, I hope the bitch rots in hell.

Naming Mandela a terrorist isn't exactly far beside the truth...

In his ANC days before he was on Robbeneiland he was a Russian backed Marxist terrorist..

I was in the UK on business and for personal reasons for a lot the period from 1984 to 1988 and I remember the Brixton riots very well.
I also remember how much she was hated.

The miners striked in 1981 and the government had no choice but to concede their demands. In order to not be in that position again, she took measures to prepare for the next time. When it happened in 1984 she stood strong and waited them out. Eventually they gave up. Whatever economic demage occurred was a consequence of their own making.

They were the ones who went on strike. They did it in 1981 and took advantage of a government that was ill prepared, tried to do it again and got burned.

Lets just agree to disagree. She is one of those polarizing charecters whose actions gets interpreted differently depending on your political views. If a person strikes and gets into financial trouble, my view is its the individuals responsibility. You look at the same situation and view it as the company's responsibility. Niether POV is evil, just different.

    enjoy the time in Hell.

Remember when she helped out the

and called Nelson Mandela a terrorist.

Also remember when she called Augusto

Quite frankly the conservatives don't give a damn about anyone or anything but the people with money

Which means you and I do not count

Ever spent time homeless trying to pull yourself up? Sleeping in little league dugouts and working two jobs?
Guess who did help and who DIDN'T.

I'm sorry your personal experience has taught you that, just as my personal experience is the opposite. My parents are big time conservatives and give to a charity local called "Father Joes Village" (a homeless charity) all of the time.

The difference is that I don't paint a whole party with one brush the way you do. I think that limits your perspective on things when you approach life that way but thats just my opinion and I don't expect much for it.

Margaret Thatcher like all Conservative Politicans
only care about Rich White People.

They seem to hate us hard working immigrants
    to their Countries.

That is why they will never get our vote.
