Whoever "fixed" that furnace is in deep doodoo.
My 2 conspiracy theory rabid co-workers are convinced that this was a misfired drone strike.
I do know that they still have no clue as to what it was.. go figure, we are talking Indiana here..
I couldn't imagine being woke up to a sonic boom and my windows being blown out! Scary ass shit!
I saw a snippet on the news this morning about the explosion before I left for work. I didn't hear what was said about it at first and thought it was tornado damage I was seeing. That's some scary shit.
That is one big explosion, I don't get it, they say it was not a gas leak, what the hell was it? The ex-husband said he thinks it was the furnace, I think his daughter texted him and told him they were having problems with it.
That's what I wa thinking; wht is it if it wasn't a gas leak, meth lab,or something else like that?
meant "what". Stupid typos.
Maybe someone trying to light a pilot light?
They still don't know what caused the blast... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/11/13...-indianapolis/ but they may have a clue..
Make's me wanna covert to all electric!
Still no cause. The news says that the residents of the neighborhood are demanding answers. Can't say that I blame them! It seems almost like it would be too big of an explosion to be a faulty furnace. I have a friend who said geologist's think maybe fracking could be to blame?
They are treating this as a homicide, I just had a feeling something was not right here.
The Mom was at a casino, the daughter was staying overnight at a friends and the cat was boarded. There is a restraining order against the ex-husband. Insurance scam gone very bad???? The are seaching for a white van that was seen parked in the driveway that day.
Now a homicide investigation. http://www.wfsb.com/story/20143468/i...-investigation

"I will be buried in a spring loaded casket filled with confetti, and a future archaeologist will have one awesome day at work."
Wow. That is interesting. I will have to follow this.
A couple years ago the house two doors down from my mom exploded. She said it was the loudest thing she had ever heard. That house was totaled and it then caught the house next to my mom's on fire. The neighborhood was built around 1949-1951, so all the houses were cute little vintage homes. When these people rebuilt they probably built it with twice the square feet they had before and it's way taller and more modern looking than any other house on the block.
The daughter staying somewhere else that night and the cat being boarded overnight definitely sounds suspicious. I'll be curious to see how this unfolds. I agree with Leasie that it sounds like an insurance scam. Here's another link...

I agree, it sounds very suspicious. Why was the cat being boarded? That's the most suspicious thing. It's not like they were on vacation. This article says the woman, her boyfriend and the daughter were at the casino.
The two people even left home with the cat
so far they seem guilty to me.
Carolyn(1958-2009) always in my heart.
I bet when it's all said and done, we'll being seeing this story on ID Discovery!
Yeah, like the white box truck that the DC snipers were supposedly using and they were arrested in a Caprice Classic. Everyone was so focused on a white box truck that two killers in a Caprice never even registered on their radar.
Finally have an arrest. The owner, her boyfriend and his brother.

Good! 31 homes must be demolished? I'm surprised the costs aren't more than 4mil.

I found the article somewhat confusing. Was an insurance payout supposed to be the motive? That third dude in the picture on the link looks like a cock eyed Jerry Springer.
Insurance as a motive is how I'm understanding it. It was increased just before the explosion. The fact that the 2 goofballs (including Jerry Springer, lol) talked to Citizens's gas a day before and asking about how long does it take to fill a house with gas was another boner move on their part. Idiots.

It was really nice of them to spare the cat's life when they didn't give a damn about innocent people dying. I'm glad the cat is alive and uninjured, it just seems evil to care more about a cat than people. They definitely sound like a bunch of morons. It takes a different kind of person/persons to cause a fire and let people burn to death for some extra pocket money.
Geezus what morons.
hahaha I thought that one dude looked like Springer too! They said her BF lost 10k at a casino the weekend before, and that was the motive... so they got greedier and increased their insurance. That's what I got from it. What a bunch of dumb-asses! Let's increase our IP, board the cat, make sure nobody's home... yeah! That won't look suspicious!
Ahh, I thought the owner and boyfriend were behind this.
When I first heard this news I immediately wondered if someone blew the place up for insurance. I just seemed so odd. When I was little and lived in San Diego I remember hearing a house explode about 4 or 5 blocks from where we lived, turned out it was some kind of gas leak. It didn't do nearly 1 tenth the damage that THIS house had. I hope these folks are put away for ever or end up on the other side of the grass.
By my troth, I care not; a man can die but once; we owe God a death.... He that dies this year is quit for the next.

Prosecutors will not seek the death penalty... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/02/11...ys-jury-never/
Now the suspect is charged with trying to have a witness killed.
"Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said Leonard tried to arrange to have the witness killed for a payment of $15,000. Curry said Leonard also offered a $5,000 bonus if the killing was made to look like a suicide and if the killer could force the witness to first call 911 and recant statements about the explosion."

What a genius, like he wasn't screwed enough before, add more charges for conspiracy to commit murder.
I cracked up laughing that the "hit man" was an ATF agent! Bahahaha! From the beginning I knew it was them! I live about 20 mins from the location and my house shook. I first thought it was someone breaking in upstairs, and 2nd thought was a plane just went down.
What an idiot. I thought it was common knowledge that jail phones are always monitored. But I guess you need half a brain to know that. Not dealing with geniuses here.
This whole thing could almost be a comedy if it wasn't for two innocent people being killed by their greed. Hope these morons never get out of jail.

Wow. About as smart as our St. Paulite Trevino calling his relatives about where his passport is, etc.. from custody.
It's pretty amazing that the dumbest criminals are the ones who fancy themselves the most clever.
Mark Leonard, one of the culprits, died back in January. I wasn't sure how to react when I first read it: https://fox59.com/2018/01/30/richmon...indy-hospital/
He died in January? Thanks for info...this is the first article I have read on his death.
