    Adela Legaretta Rivas

    Her death after being hit by a car in 1979 was captured by a photographer named Enrique Metinides, who is known as the "Mexican Weegee". The photo is *very* graphic, yet somehow hauntingly beautiful.

    Her last name is actually Rivas - my apologies.

    I read the comments on the photo - I think that's her handbag. Hard to tell.

    any info about her life?
    i can't find any pictures of her alive.
    i also read the interesting post about
    Enrique Metinides (the photographer) but there are no details about her life..

    Interesting. I know there are photographers in Mexico City that publish photo's in a weekly magazine of people murdered over drug deals, car crashes, etc...

    i found a video on youtube..it must be about the photographer Enrique Metinides who took this picture. At 02:15 he talks about her but it's in spanish.. can someone help me please understand what he says??
