I used to drink occasionally here in Singapore at a kopitiam (coffee shop). You need to know that a coffee shop here refers to a stall usually found in a hawker centre.

Anyway, there was an old Chinese guy who operated an SP bookmaking service.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SP_bookmaking which is illegal in Singapore.
In Australia, an SP bookmaker is known as a 'bookie'.
So, whilst at the coffee shop, I decided I would like to place a bet. I stand up, look around, and begin asking in not so hushed tones, where is the bookie? My local mates immediately dragged me down into my seat and tell me to shut up.
It seems that bookie in Malaysian means a woman's vajaja...... oops!
