Wow, and I thought that it was the 90s to the present day that had the most deaths of young stars...drugs must have really gotten around in those days...
    [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Didn't know that was a thing...

Child actors, youth actors and rock and roll stars included must be here! Thats a lot of yrs of angst and anguish for an age of artists and fame where fame is hard to handle or life is!
This is a very general sweeping statement!
If your going to not be able to cope with fame it will possibly come at this age or after you have had fame at a younger age!
Then there are the after yrs into the 30's and 40's oh it never stops this theory of stardom really!

See deathhags there is a great consolation in not being famous!

Fate more like than the devil !

    Divine Intervention

I searched this and could not find a thread. I was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced an event or more where they felt like someone or something was helping them.

I was driving down the road awhile back, following a flatbed truck carrying rebar. It was going the speed limit, but all of a sudden I literally said out loud, "God, I'm sick of looking at the back of that truck" and moved into the other lane. The second I got into the other lane, a bundle of rebar fell off the back of the truck and landed on the road. Had I not moved over it would have went throught my windshield.

Another time I was sitting trying to work my way through a major personal problem and this magazine fell off the coffee table and landed open. I picked it up and put it back, never even looking at it. It fell off again, landed open and I picked it up and put it back. The damned thing fell off a THIRD time and, disgustedly, I picked it up, but this time I looked at it. It was falling open to an article dealing with the problem I was having. It solved my crisis.

Other things have happened over the years. Not often, but it does make me wonder. Does anyone else have any experiences like these?

    Wow, that's pretty amazing...

The only thing I can think of is an ex who was incredibly abusive to me constantly had tried to kill me already, but it didn't work... when they tried it again, their gun jammed.

That was probably a good thing. @_@

There are people who are close to me who have had experiences quite similar...but none has happened to me personally.

I was merely pointing out that she didn't look very divine to me, and I wouldn't want her to "intervene" with me....ever.

    I had a few moments.

One is very personal. But I'll share as much as I feel I can.

We had a temp at a place where I use to work at. With my experience temps a freakin' worthless. We worked with him for 2 weeks, so I thought I had a pretty good idea what he was about. Untill:

One day we were talking about going out one night. We did one night. We went bar hopping. I drove, cause I'm not really a big drinker. The first place we went we met this girl whom he was supposidly having an affair with. As we drove to the next place, they freaking lighted a joint. They didn't tell me, and plus I didn't want none of that shit in my car. I was pissed. Now thats jus the start of it.

We drove to a 3rd place, he got a hold of one one his buddies. He ended up buying cocaine. Or in other words, I bought it, with my money. I was pissed, and also scared. I felt if I said something or whatever, I thought I might have get killed. I don't know what this guy would have done to me. Plus too he was in my car, and could gotten my license number. So they did coke in the parking lot, in my car of all fuckin' places. Like I said too I was scared. Thinking if got away, who knows what would have happened.

Instead of going bar hopping, I watched these fools get high. We went to a guys house, the whole they smoked crack. We went out like 4 or times to get a new batch of crack. I had a few times to say, if I die , I die, and just leave. Especially that last time. And guess who bought the drugs. Good ol' me.

The girl quit doing it for a while. Me I was sitting in the front room while they were in this guy's bedroom. She came out and sat next to me and said I'm sorry what is going on here. e talked for about a solid 30 minutes. She was saying I can't take that stuff. She said too something about how they must spiked the crack with something else because both the gguys felt different than what crack would do. I told her, hey lets get out of here you can come to my place if you want. Just then blam, he walks out and is ready to go.

We left. I drove his ass back to his car. He said to me. "you saw a side of me you won't usually see." Then he says see you tomorrow. I should have rephrased that and said I'll see you in a few hours. I got to my place at 4:50 the next morning, and it was a workday too. I spent $200.00 on that fucker.

That week, my dad and his gf were in town. That day, the day after my incident. Or it could have the same day, cause ummmm it went into the morning hours. Anyway they went up to Blackhawk to gamble. I was very very misserable at work. My dad calls and says we each have a surprise for you.

When I got home that night, I felt really relieved. We went out for dinner and watched a movie. Anyway they each gave me $100.00. Thats $200.00, the same amount I lost. I thought WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10 years ago I was working in a kennel, and was alone on a Saturday night, tending the dogs. I was in the X yard with a great dane, who turned on a dime and started to attack me with no provocation.
I kept feeding him my arms (he was close to being eye to eye with me) and I tried to back up to the gate (10-15 feet away). Then he charged me and knocked me on my back. That was it, I should have been killed. He kept going for my face and throat, and I just kept sticking my hands in his mouth and my arms, letting him rip those up as I tried to figure out what to do...
Somehow, and to this day, I cannot tell you HOW, I was able to get back up...brought to my feet almost...and continued to feed him my hands and arms to protect my face and chest. Finally I reached the gate and was able to get thru....I then walked to a house a few hundred feet up the drive, trailing blood behind me. I was brought to the hospital where I stayed awhile.
When animal control came to get the dog, he charged them and tried to get them as well...they said it was amazing I had come thru it alive. If it had been the dog groomer working that night (she refused to work that night so I took the shift, it was not my normal work time), she would not have survived as she was just 5'2" and 110 lbs.

I believe wholeheartedly in God, and that He gives us guardian angels. Not only do I believe and have faith, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that it's true, because, in all laws of physics, I shouldn't be here.

It was a weekday morning, and I was getting ready for work. When I was finished, I filled the sink with water to soak my hairbrush because it was getting fugly. While that was soaking, I took up the hairdryer (which was still plugged in) to put it away, but my grip slipped and it fell into the sink full of water. (I was going to take the plug from the wall once I got a grip on it so it WOULDN'T fall in, but, so goes my life.) Anyway...

Keep in mind, I'm in a fog when I first wake up, so I wasn't thinking, and reached right in to grab the hairdryer. No shock, no electrocution. I should have been on the floor.

I realized what I had done, and was beating myself up all day over it, "Stupid, stupid STUPID! How could you reach right in like that? Are you a moron?" God and His angels were watching over me that day!

Several years ago my husband (boyfriend at the time) was working as a police officer. We were in the earlier phase of our relationship. I having serious doubts about the relationship due to many things-
    I am 8 years older
    Recently divorced with 4 kids.
    He had no children.
    Oh and he was 23.

He was working on going into the Air Force-I was a military brat who married/divorced military. I was not keen on having a relationship with someone in the military again. So he/we had to make some decisions.

He also had an opportunity to become a Highway Patrolman.

So 2 days before his 24th birthday. We had a rare night off. Kids at their dad's house. He did 12 on 12 off shifts as a PO.

We ordered in, rented movies, planned for a night just he and I. (cue cheesy porn music)

Chris tells me he doesn't feel well, it was warm- I thought maybe heat exhaustion. I told him to jump in the shower and cool off.

It was in the shower that he starting having the chest pain that ran up his neck, and into his jaw and arms. When he gets out I tell him maybe we should go to the ER (we now have all the classic signs of a heart attack-even though he is only 23) For once he doesn't argue with me.

As we walk out the door he tells me he needs to throw up, as he is walking out of the bathroom he is gray as a ghost-but says he feels better. No-we are going NOW!

Long and the short of it. He did not know he was born with a defect in his Aorta. It was crimped closed. His body used the other major arteries/vessels to pump the blood and work the heart. When they wore out from over use, it forced the blood through the Aorta and it unraveled-like a Firestone tire. It is the same thing John Ritter died from. He had open heart surgery within 3 hours. It took them 7 hours to repair his heart.

    He had NO muscle damage......

The events leading up to this moment when this happen have to be more than coincidence.

    A. I have medical training and knowledge-the Dr told me had I waited, not understood the signs of an MI- he would have bled to death in my living room in under 4 hours.

    B. Had he been on patrol, he would have been in a car by himself in the middle of nowhere and more than likely too stubborn to call for help.

    c. He could have died during basic training for either the military or Highway Patrol (through random odd circumstances, his entry fell through the cracks-they offered him the job after the MI-He declined)

D The one night we had no kids, no where to be and nothing to do.

We are not Christians-we are practicing Wiccans-We take a lot of comfort knowing that Mom and Dad (God and Goddess) have their hands full with us.

We have been together since, and in 1 week we are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and his 32nd Birthday.

When my grandmother (my mother's mother) passed away in 1984 my entire family was a MESS. She was a such a SAINT to us in life, and always encouraged us and filled our lives with warmth and love. During our "lost period" she decided to pay us a visit one night. My mother saw her in the hallway looking into my sister's bedroom with her arms stretched out...this was in the middle of the night. My mom even woke up and made a big stink of it after she saw it. We also experienced hauntings in her house shortly after she died...Door knobs wiggling at night, floorboard creaking, and my dachschund would always perk up and stare and growl at something in the corner. That was grandma!

I think I've had 2 in my life...Once when I was driving home one Saturday afternoon..I had a 10 year old Subaru and it was on it's way out...well just before I got on the ramp to a busy highway..my car just stopped dead..and of course I said a few choice words..then looked up and saw I was right in front of a car repair shop..anyway my axle broke and to this day I'm sure if it had happened on the highway someone else or myself could have been killed.

Second..the night before my dad died I was the last to visit him and he was sleeping on and off..I stayed till end of visiting hours and said Good Night to him..Halfway down the hall A voice said very firmly "Just go back and tell him you love him" (I had forgotten to..feeling pretty messed up about his condition) so without question I did just that and had a moment just between him and I that I will never forget. Our last words to each other were "I love you" and I know that's what got me through the following day when I got the call and the days after.

I dunno if you agree with me but the way I see it is this.

I've had bad situations where I asked myself the same thing but then I say: "You know what, this coulda probably been so much worse."

That's where I think the divine intervention comes in, cause it wasn't worse. Wouldn't you agree? (You don't have to...)

Years ago I worked for a ladies undergarment factory that was set up on a hill and the only way out was down a wide exit and onto a main road. One afternoon I stopped at the prompt of the cop directing traffic, then he waved me to go ahead, but for some reason I hesitated. He motioned again, but my foot just would not step on the gas. Then a car went barreling by and would have T-boned me if I had gone on like the cop was directing me to do. The look on that cop's face was priceless.

Another time an orange Grimlin ran a stop sign at an intersection and when I tried to miss it, I lost control of my car. I zig zagged into the other lane, headed for a 20 foot drop off. Knew better than to step on the brake or wrestle with the wheel, so I did nothing but wait for what was surely my death. As my left front wheel got right at the edge of that drop off the wheel stopped spinning, the car turned right away from the edge and swung back into the road. All of this happened when that road was usually dotted with cars, yet there was no one but me there, and my co Pilot.
    GOD IS NOT DEAD

I should have died many times over; primarily due to youthful stupidity.

I can report that I am no longer young.

I was once accidentally hanged when a copper cable got tangled around my neck...I was dangling and I actually passed out.

I woke up; hurting all over; laying on the ground.

The cable had broken after I passed out; but before that event had killed me.

Perhaps that explains my current dain bramage.

    True story.

I've had few in my time.

I was driving my hubbys 4x4 truck to my moms house one morning. I got stuck behind a garbage truck. Normally, I would yell and get pissed at having to drive behind the garbage truck. For some reason this morning, I started thinking about how the garbage guys have it rough. I mean, they have a shitty job as is and on top of it, have idiots like me getting pissed off at them for just doing their job. I stayed behind them for quite a distance until they pulled off the road to allow the line of cars to go by. I waved and went on by them. Before I went to turn on the road my mom lives on, the truck stopped running. Wouldn't do crap. I started to freak. Well, low and behold, guess who came to help me, the garbage truck! They got out, told me what was wrong with the truck (my drive shaft fell out!!) and even went back and picked it up for me. They helped me get the truck in 4 wheel drive and changed their route so they could follow me to my moms. If it wasn't for them, I'd been lost. To this day, if I get behind a garbage truck, I slow down.

I have had many strange happenings.
One time while driving north on a eight lane highway during bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic, some idiot kids in the next lane swerved toward my front fender. I swerved left to get out of the way, then overcorrected and the car lost control, fishtailed. I tell you, I had no control over this car. It went far left, into the grassy steep median, over into the southbound lanes, headed south, then back into the median and onto the northbound lanes heading north--without hitting anyone. I did feel like someone must've been looking out for me that day.
I have had three instances after my divorce and loss of my job when I was flat dead broke, and got money in the mail just at the point my utilities were about to be disconnected. One check was from an old retirement account I knew nothing about, one was a mistake on my taxes and they sent a big refund I didn't expect, and the other one a refund from an insurance company that had sold out. These were all checks I didn't expect nor knew about.

I haven't had any experiences like those posted here, I just always seem to have good things happening....one job ends and another is usually there within a week..I do live in care with the elderly and I usually stay till the person dies....car repairs fall when I have extra cash, etc, etc....I have a strong faith and believe in Karma and the 3-fold law, so I guess I see divine intervention in my life on an almost daily basis in small things and I am grateful for it.....

Satan needs to clock out and go home! He's been getting WAYYYYY too much over time!

My dear, you are NOT losing your faith - don't even talk that way. It's called spiritual warfare. We all go through it. Satan's trying to sift you - he's a thief. Don't let him win.

Jesus said a prayer for you - he said one for us all. Read John 10:28-30, John17:8-10, and 2 Thessalonians 2:3-5 for inspiration.

    Your sister in Christ,
    Cheryl

Yep. When my beloved kitty died last year I was raging pretty hard. I've softened a bit since, but there are still some days......

I've always been aware that God is here for me, I always know that ,but sometimes I'm the one who forgets I cannot control everything.

The only life you get is the one you have right now, so don't screw it up, no redo's.
