Rauuuuuuuuuuuuuul Ibanez!
Backhanded! Woohoo!
Holy crap - did you see that behind the back catch? Did I tell you guys I love Cliff Lee???
I feel the need for a homerun....c'mon Victorinooooooo....
Basehit! 5-0
I'll take the base hit! Thanks Shane!
WOhoooo 5-0!
Come on Phillie's, put more runs on the board!
6-0!!! Yay!
There goes the shutout
How bout that Cliff Lee!!!
Phillies rocked it in New York tonight! Cliff Lee is truly amazing.
Oh yeah. Phillies win easily, thanks to Lee
But a 99 mph fastball in the 9th? That's remarkable...
YAY! Way to go Phillies! Lee is awesome!
Yay! I couldn't agree more! Lee is amazing...
Lee didn't throw over 92 mph the whole night...there is something wrong with that radar gun!
Wow, what a game! Cliff Lee is a machine, mentally tough. The guy shuts down the Yanks and catches a grounder behind his back to boot. Awesome.
He would need to worry that the Phils would lay it on in the 9th. We roll like that..
Congratulations Phillie fans, Lee is one heck of a pitcher, but to keep him in there for 9 innings, not sure if that was a smart move. I think Lee was worried about the bull pen and wanted to stay out, I could be wrong though.
Game 2 Come on Yankees...
So, about Pedro...I linked the full article below - I love Lee Russakoff's column.
Pedro Is the Son of God
You think the theater is over now that Cliff Lee has pitched his gem? Think again. Pedro will entertain you … I promise.
Don’t believe me? Check out what he said last night:
“I don’t know if you guys realize this, but because of you guys in some ways, I might be at times the most influential player that ever stepped in Yankee Stadium.” [emphasis added]
He honestly said that. Honestly.
Know what else he said?
“You know, any time I hear that, 'Who’s your daddy?' it really reminds me that God is my daddy. It gives me strength.”
Yea … so in 20 minutes Pedro insisted he was more influential than Gehrig and Ruth and Mantle and DiMaggio and apparently admitted he’s Jesus … or brothers with Jesus (half-brothers at the very least).
So buckle up, America. If you thought Game 1 was memorable, with Martinez on the mound, Game 2 may just blow your socks off.

I just saw this on Wiki:
When asked about the Red Sox â?? Yankees rivalry, he responded: "I'm starting to hate talking about the Yankees. The questions are so stupid. They're wasting my time. It's getting kind of old ... I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass, pardon me the word."
I was laughing hearing Pedro today on ESPN! Oh dear! LOL
Come on Phillies!
Matt Stairs! Woot!
1 - 0 Phillies......................
Wohooooo! A-Rod ....
Rauuuuuuuuuuul Ibanez!
lol -Rollins needs to zip his pants...
Hey Barb, what's with the necklaces? Some of them on both teams are wearing the rope-type ones; others aren't. Any idea? I was trying to figure that out the other night.
Rollins and Victorino can play this game forever...
No idea. I remember some of them wore them last year. I'll have to google that.
Per Wiki answers:
Phiten (appropriately pronounced "fightin' ") necklaces, not just for style but for strength. The baubles, braided layers of nylon and polyester, contain titanium, a metal that the manufacturer claims permits a greater flow of energy in the body. Color combinations abound, including Yankee navy and white.
I know he's a Yankee, but that's very cool that Jeter won the "Roberto Clemente" Award.
I gotta run to the store real quick! Hopefully when I get back Phillies will have more runs!
Because it's a bunch of good lookin' guys...
Joe Buck still cracks me up. The Yankees are losing and all he talks about is how well they are playing and how well Burnett is pitching...it's like last year all over again! WTF?
Back to red - am I being over-sensitive?
'That ball was crushed' - it went all the way over the fence in the outfield...Crushed is when it goes in the upper deck dear Joe...
Argh!
